How far out can I book?

We just came back, and have decided we're going back in May 2009. How far out can I book it? We're DEFINATLY staying at the Poly this time. We stayed at POR last week, and while it was a beautiful resort, it was SO big I was sick of walking, and taking the bussses everywhere sucked too....

....anyhow, I want to book as soon as I can so I can start paying on it, you know?

As soon as 2009 prices come out, which is about June, July, August of the previous year, so in other words, 2009 prices will be out June, July, or August of 2008! Happy Planning!

We just got back from POR too and are planning another trip in May 2009! I have to wait another year to start planning!!??? Yikes! Maybe I'll see ya there!

You can book a room only reservation earlier than that, I've heard at 500 days out? You have to put a deposit equal to one nights stay down. We reserved for March 2008, last month.

HuH! that DOES suck that I have to wait a year to start planning again!!! LOL! Oh well. It'll give my wallet a break, eh?

We are looking at Poly this time also - although I LOVED the CR. Not sure if we will go spring break again or try for Oct break. With 2 kids in school next year, we will have to weigh taking them out of school for a few days/dealing with homework versus big spring break crowds. Good luck with the planning!

Did you make your reservation directly through disneyworld.com or ?? I've been trying to book our room for January 2008 with no luck. It tells me the dates aren't available or it sends me to a "page unavailable" message. Maybe I'm going about this wrong??

You actually have to call Disney directly to book a room only package for the 2008 rates. They will base it on this years rates, and you would have to pay any difference once the rates come out. At that time you could also re-book it to include a package. That is what we are doing. I already booked my room at the WL for Jan. 2008. You cannot do so via the website until the rates come out for 2008. Hope this helps.

Thanks - that does help! Judging from the post above, I'm guessing it might be a while yet before the 2008 prices are out and booking is available online.
