How far out are "bouncebacks"?

We're going mid-September and would likely book a bounceback if we can come back at least a year out. Or do bouncebacks usually have you coming back in less time than that?

I haven't seen a bounce back offer in years. May be because I usually stay in Dvc resorts, but not always.

We got an offer when we stayed in December of last year. It ran through all of 2017 - with a few blackout dates. There were two problems with it - it was only for Deluxe Villas (we stay at The Contemporary) and we didn't read the email till after we got home. The dates and the discount were both generous.

Hm I think we got the same BB. We stayed over Thanksgiving also at the Contemporary and BB'd a club level Polynesian, and the BB didn't come via email - it was available at the resort when we checked in?

My cousins went end of September/beginning of Oct last yr. during free dining, and bounceback was available for a variety of dates through the following Dec., but not for the same time period they were there, so they ended up choosing end of Aug. As your trip gets closer, you can check here for someone posting the latest offer. If it is not on flyer/packet in your room, call 8844 from phone for information.

Awesome, thank you - didn't look at all the BB dates as we knew we wanted to go to MNSSHP so we were locked into September/October which was only 11 months out from our original stay. Good to know we can hopefully go back later than September of 2018 =)

You guys are making me so happy- we go in May with the in laws but my parents feel left out so if I could book a bb for nov 18 that would solve SO many problems

Disney's pattern for the last several years:

During late August til maybe mid October: free dining for select dates the next year.

Sometime in mid October - early November, the offer changes to a room discount for selected dates the following year. That offer continues til the next free dining period.

So in September you should be able to book a free dining offer for sometime in 2018. Room discounts for 2018 will probably not be offered til mid October at least. In May of this year, the offer will be the same room discount off that is available now for the rest of 2017. They have never offered bounceback dates for the next year that early.


That is how it has been for several years now. Of course, Disney can change things at any time.

Also, you don't have to wait to be "offered" a bounceback promotion. Call ext 8844 from your room phone & ask what the current offer is. It is available to everyone staying at a resort. Even if the info in your room states a different resort category than the 1 you want, call & ask what is available. Disney tends to highlight one resort category in it's advertising even tho all types qualify for the offer.

In May of this year, the offer will be for dates in 2017. Offers for November of 2018 will not be available until sometime in October, if that is what you are planning for.

No, you can change only to dates that were included in your original bounceback offer & only if there is still availability under the original offer. Sorry. No way to book a discount for Nov 2018 in May of 2017.

Much would depend on if you could move it. Resort, date and room category must still be available for that discount. Our success has been hit and miss.
