How far is your drive to WDW, Florida

When we lived in Virginia, our drive to WDW was 13 hours. Honestly, it wasn't that bad of a trip, and we did it straight through with a child. Now our drive is 35 minutes. Living in Florida is GREAT! :)

We alway fly, up until now. We just had a horrible experience flying down last June, so we decided we are driving down. It should take us about 16 hrs. Not only will we skip the headache at the airport, we can pack as much as we want, and save $$$. We're looking at the driving part of the trip as the beginning of our vacation. We plan to leave early evening, and beat the traffic. There are 3 adults, so we all can take shifts driving, so at least 2 of us should arrive somewhat rested. :scared1:

No, not everyone is under 40, I'm 45, but I am taking my DS(18) and DD(23) on this trip and splitting the driving. My last driving trip it was DS and I, the time before it was DW and I splitting the driving. I could do it by myself, but that would make me cranky.

Last year it took us 20 hours to get from central/southern New Jersey. That included MANY stops (traveled with DD18 months and DD 3), and a flat tire we had to change south of Jacksonville. This trip, we are leaving at 2am Jan 1st and driving until we cant drive anymore (targeting northern Fla). We cant wait!!! I think that getting there is half the fun!!!

Hi, our trip is 16-18 hrs long. We make the trip without stop for the night. We are traveling from PA. This will be our second driving trip. Round trip is little over 3,000 miles. :moped:

sorry it took so long to reply...yes, we live in edwardsville, just across the river from st.louis....I know scott AFB very well...I live about 20 miles from there...

13 hours straight driving.
I have done it once. Flying is much easier for one person.

Brady...I wish I was you!!! You are soooo lucky. My trip is about 17 hours and I drive it at least once and year and fly once. The drive makes the 2nd trip very affordable. :moped: :moped: :moped: :moped:

We will be driving 24 hours from Canada in March. Driving straight through.
DH will be sharing driving with DS. We are both over50! :wave2: For seven of us it will save$$$

16 hours from outside Havertown, PA. We've only driven once and hopefully won't again (flying is so much easier).

1150 miles, 17 hours from Washington IL., near Peoria, IL.
:earsgirl: shopgirl

It is about 560mi. (9 Hrs) from Spartanburg, SC and we have always driven. This year, however, we are flying (my first flight ever)... mainly due to the huge billboard that I pass everyday on the way to work that says "85 Minutes to Mickey".

I can't wait

We drove down, once, when we were in college, and made it in about 25 hours. We stopped in Georgia for a 3 hour nap...we hope to not drive down again. And with the price of gas close to $2 a gallon, and being able to get flights for around $150, why would we?!?!

We have about a 20 hr drive. Have done it only twice. The second time we came home through the midatlantic states in a "shut-down the state blizzard" and it took us almost double. Since then we've only flown back and forth which is only a hair over 2hrs on a direct flight. Personally, if it's more than a 4-5 hr drive, I'm flying. I HATE being in the car for any length of time.

1026 miles. Made it down in 17.5 hours and back in 18 hours (took a long dinner break). We usually split up the drive into 2 days each way but we non-stopped our trip last week due to limited time...

If only the wife would fly :sad2:
