How far is your drive to WDW, Florida

1200 and we do it every year.. then we drive another hour and a half to get to Vero.

We never drive to far, DH hates to drive that far. He drives to work every day thats about one and half hours each way. That's why we fly only 2hrs or so to fly down.

Hi, cranbiz our best friends just moved to Deltona in July of this year. We will be going in 2007, my DD now 16 is in high school we will wait till she gets out. We will be going down to Deltona in January.:bounce: :bounce: Will try to go to WDW when we are there. Friends want to show us around Deltona area first.

About 1 1/2 hr to 2 hrs (depending on traffic) or about 80 miles. :)

Almost thinking of moving even closer! :)

NHpooh,

I think that Deltona is a great area. 30 minutes to Daytona Beach, 45-60 minutes (depending on traffic) to the mouse.

I can't make a permanent move for about 5 years, but plan on going "home" a lot. DD(16) has 2 years of school left and I need 3 years after that to be vested in my pension. Just bought Fla Resident AP's and we plan on getting the most out of them.

DS starts school in April at AMI in Daytona, he will live there while going to school and DW and I will need to check up on him a lot :-)

If you get to sneak in a trip to Disney, take 417 fron Sanford down to 192. It's a toll road, but there is no traffic. I4 can be a pain and tends to be very congested.

Unless I get sidetracked or lost (not likely anymore as I have made so many trips I just follow my tracks from the last time) LOL it is 950 miles. I drive hard the first day, kind of enjoy it as it is like an extended Test Track ride and gets me in the mood. Usually make it a bit after noon on the second day and have time to settle in (never understood why bother to stay off site the first night, too much turmoil the next day moving from one place to another) and then head to EPCOT and Spaceship Earth and a walk around the World to start our trip off on the right foot.

Driving is much easier, for me, than driving to the Indpls airport, going through all the stuff and trying to keep my dh calm so that he does not end up in Homeland Security Jail.

29 hours---We will be leaving for our second time in 12 days, Cant Wait. My husband does all the driving, but i am forced to stay awake.

About a 4 hour drive. 200 miles give or take a mile. But trust me when you are going to Disney every hour feels like it takes a day to pass.:D

It's about a 5 hr. drive for us. Can't believe we're doing it for the third time this year in just a couple of weeks!

It is 912 miles from my driveway in Cincinnati to the POP security gate. Except for the traffic light on my corner there are no other stop signs or lights until I am on WDW property if gas/relief/stretching weren’t required.
Leave again in 13 days will go home Friday afternoon and right to bed. Alarm set for 12:30 am on the road by 1am. Best time ever 12 hrs 11 min. average about 13.5

650 miles, 11 hours when driving with parents. 9 1/2 hours driving at night just me a my boyfriend. I do all the driving:moped: but my boyfriend has to stay awake! Anyone else find the stretch on 75 from Macon to Valdosta to be the longest part of the trip? Nothing against GA!!! Once we hit FL billboards and the anticipation of going through Gainesville for me (don't tell anyone from TN that I'm a Gator fan:p ). Driving back down in a few months and cannot wait!

Everyone have a safe trip!!

Chris

14 hours driving. One day or two. Depends on when we leave.

About the same if we fly with the plane leaving late because it is broken, then waiting to catch another flight that leaves late. Then waiting for the luggage at the airport and getting our car.

Much easier driving from home.

 Thanks cranbiz I'll remember that 417 sounds good. I am counting the days till Fl. in January.

Two hours door to door.

The worst part of our trip is getting to the Florida Turnpike.:teeth:

We live in Louisiana too - right outside of Covington! Its about a 10 hr drive for us too!!!! We usually drive straight through (we just did it in July!), but for our shorter trips, we fly. Only about 1.5 hr flight!!

Everybody have a great trip!!!!!!

It's about 15-16 hours for us, depending on how much DC traffic we hit. We stopped in Fayetteville, NC on the way down last trip and didn't stop at all on the way home because of all the hurricanes that were at our back ;)

It would be about 34 hrs from here. We fly. For the ones that drive over 20 hrs, do you find that you really save alot of money with the price of gas now-a-days? DH and DD are driving to NS as I write this (37 hrs) and DH made a comment on the phone last night about it would almost be cheaper to fly with what its costing but DD is moving to NS and the van is packed so that wasn't an option. Was just curious on the savings.

thanks :)

We are 25 hours and are planning to do it over two days. We have a 3yo dd and 5 yo ds and hope we survive with our sanity!

Mamalema - can't believe you made it straight through! We are in Waterloo, so just a bit further than you. We're not brave enough to try it without a stop at a hotel with a pool etc to recharge batteries..
