How far is the walk?? (AK)

How far is the walk from the handicapped parking area at AK to the Tree of Life? My DM will be using an ECV but I will be walking and am trying to walk every day on hills to build myself up.

I looked at the satellite view on Google Maps and the distance (from about the middle of disabled parking to the middle of the Tree of Life) appears to be a little more than 1/2 mile.

Unfortunately that is as the crow flies. It seems that the roads and paths were laid out by drunken crows, and you would be going more than 3/4 mile.

I was also trying to measure on google maps, but there are so many trees in the part of the park right after you enter that it's hard to route a path. The best I could come up with was similar to

Anyway, a couple of other things - The handicapped parking area is quite large and if you are parked in one of the farther parking spots, the walk will be a bit farther. There are benches along the way where you can stop and rest if you need to.

I used Google Earth which was fun. About .3 miles from the corner nearest the entrance to the Tree of Life. Odds are that it will be a half mile on a busy day. They have a fun little path maker but for the first time in a week my computer was low whatever, google earth does take a lot from computers.
