50 mins. That has been my time almost every single time I have flown into Sanford...both coming and going to WDW.
Just be aware that you need to have your own transportation when flying into Sanford. You can get a rental car, have a car service bring you back and forth but that is going to run about $200 r/t. I wish there were some sort of shuttle running between Sanford and WDW but as of yet it isn't happening. Even if the shuttle only brought you to MCO where you could use DME. Hmmm, maybe I could start that type of service when I move down there.
When flying into Sanford, I am usually flying Direct Air, out of Worcester Mass. I have had pretty decent experiences with them. I did have an issue last Oct. I had paid extra to choose our seats when I booked. No problem going down to Orlando. But, when we got to Sanford to head home, we got there a bit over two hours prior to our flight time....way early. But, when we checked in, we found that the seats we had chosen were no longer ours!!! Seriously??? Two hours prior to departure and my seats have been given to someone else?? I was not happy. It costs extra to choose your seats in advance. Well, they gave us exit row seating. It was actually nice since the flight wasn't full (another reason I couldn't figure out why our very first row seats were no longer ours!!!!), so each couple had that row just for the two of them. It was so empty that the FAs were asking those in the first 12 rows to volunteer to move to the back of the plane to balance it off better..now that's a scary thing to hear!!!!
But all in all, I have had good experiences flying with them. And I love flying into Sanford. It's a terrific airport..nice and small, very user friendly.
