DBF and I are hoping to have a destination wedding next October. The problem is we still haven't decided on a location (our choices are Orlando, Banff, or Vegas). If we do decide on a wedding at the Swan, how long would it take to pull it off? Do destination weddings take longer to plan than hometown weddings?

I don't know much about wedding planning and all the choices are a little overwhelming :(

We are having our vow renewal at the Swan next June. Our wedding planner is wonderful. You would have to go through Just Marry I believe. It doesn't take much time at all from what my planner told me. She had said they would like at least 90 days advance for a wedding and reception to make sure that there is availability. But they do have many options when it comes to a reception (if that is what you are planning). Have you contacted Just Marry yet? They are very helpful. My planner usually gets back to me within 24 hours. There are other Swan brides who have already gotten married or are getting married on this board, so maybe they could give you info also. Hope that helps a little.

Jessiangel that helps a lot! I couldn't remember the name of the website and I was worried we'd have to book a year in advance. Now we can take our time deciding which option is best for us. Thank you so much! :sunny:

I thought it was much easier to plan a WDW wedding than to plan at home. The people you deal with literally do this all day long, and they have resources and facilities that most cities just don't have. A friend who did her wedding in Vegas agrees, it was much less stressful. You tell them what you want, how you want it to look and you show up and it happens. I guess the down side would be if you have a picture in your mind of exactly what you want, and nothing close but not quite exact would work, then you might be disappointed. It was by far the best choice for me.

That's exactly the kind of wedding I'm looking for - a less stressful one. I know if I get married here I'd end up with the kind of big, fluffy wedding that our parents want. There's nothing wrong with that but I'd like something smaller and low key. I just want to go away with a few people and have everything taken care of.

Ahutton your pictures were beautiful! :D
