How far in advance to arrive?

Is all the summer craziness still happening with airlines?

We are cruising for the first time April 2023, leaving on a Monday from Port Canaveral. My plan was to leave on a nonstop flight on Sunday morning that would get in around 10 AM to Orlando, then stay at Hyatt MCO and take Disney bus to port.

Is this enough time? I'm nervous about flight cancellation but hotels are also expensive so I would rather not get another night if I don't have to.

Hard to predict what next April will bring, but I cannot imagine that not being enough time. Even through all the madness of the last year, we never had to plan more than one day in advance. We cut a couple of obligations close, but we always made it. Were it I, I would never come any earlier than that. Like you said, hotels are expensive - save the money for your vacation.

We flew down to Miami for a Dream cruise over labor day weekend. I was a bit nervous given media coverage etc. about flights, cancellations and delays. We were totally fine with a morning flight, that had one connection. Not one delay, in fact a bit early. I worried on the way home as the flight was later and there was some weather. Even with a small delay and a tight connection, we made it just fine. No one can predict bad weather or mechanical issues, but the much hyped flight craziness seems to have passed. I personally would not arrive two days before and save your $$ for fun stuff on your vacation-enjoy!

Do you live in a place where it could snow that late in the year and mess up all the travel? That would be my only concern. Not much weather-wise to worry about in Florida that time of year with the exception of a random storm.
