How far in advance should you Rent points?

In the pre-planning stages of our next trip. Thinking about the possibility of renting points, however I have no idea how far in advance I should look at renting the points.

I think it also depends on where and when you want. I'd like a studio at BLT or WL and was told no dice this year. Other places had availability.

Yes, but you may be out of luck for a specific resort or room class. There is generally reservations available at OKW and SSR for most seasons even 4 or 5 months out. But BCV and BWV not so much, usually the earlier you book the better.
