I want to order a special "wedding" cake with Mickey and Minnie on it as a surprise for my DF...well will be my DH by then!!! :woohoo: I already have a Saturday ADR for Artist Point which is where I want to do the surprise...should I order it sooner rather than later or does that stuff get lost in the shuffle if you do it too far in advance?

thanks all!!! princess: :wizard:

I didn't notice when your trip is, but you can always call the restaurant now and get their advice. I ordered a birthday cake just 2 days prior to the event--this was at AKL, and I had to call the resort directly and speak to a very helpful and friendly CM in room service, who delivered it to our room on the date. For a wedding cake, they may need more time, depending on the complexity of what you desire--ours was just a small, basic cake. Congratulations!

Thanks! Perhaps I should call WL directly...hmmm...we are going to be there August 23-30...I am so ready to go!!! i don't want a really fancy cake...just a regular one with Mickey and Minnie on top that says "To Mr. Campbell with love, Mrs. Campbell"... :rotfl: Oh he will get a kick out of that!!! He's done so much for me, wants me to have every little thing I want so that our wedding is perfect...this would be such a wonderful way to surprise him as he would NOT be expecting it. gush gush gush

anyhow, thanks for the input!!

The recommendation is at least 48 hours -- but if you give them more time than that, it would probably be even better. :sunny:

I hate to mention this, but do you know for sure that WL will do that type of cake ? I thought (and I sure could be wrong), but I thought they only did those little wedding-type of cakes at the Grand Floridian.

I would definitely call the WL bakery and find out for sure in advance. I would hate for you to wait until a week before your trip and find out that it is not available for Artist Point.
