Not sure if I should ask this here or on the Cruise Forum...

How far in advance should I book our cruise if using points for some or all of the trip? I'm looking to book a category 8 or 9 Stateroom on the Western Carribean 7 night in October of 2009. If I wait until this Fall, do you think I'll have an issue? Do they have a limited # of staterooms they allow to book with points?

I don't want to book too far in advance in case our plans need to change, but will definitely book by Nov as I'm thinking I'll need to book our related DVC rooms at 11mo given it's food & wine and Halloween...

We booked in November for this September and did not get our first choice of cruise, but the cruise in question was a special itinerary. We ended up booking a four night cruise the following week instead. If it is just a standard itinerary then a year in advance for a 7 night cruise is probably realistic

I agree. We've booked almost 2 years in advance, and found it not necessary for other than special itineraries.
