How far in advance do YOU start packing for your trip?

We're 36 days from our cruise and while I haven't started packing yet, I am right on that cusp where I want to start. I actually enjoy the packing so I don't like to finish it all way too early. I have made a packing list and bought a new swimsuit though!

well my cruise is 3 months away but i have made our packing list and our door magnets and i really want to start packing but its 3 months away

Our first cruise isn't until Feb 2011 and just yesterday I told my children that the plan for their summer clothes this year is going to be all clothes that can double for summer and the cruise. I do not want to buy everything twice. We have just under 11 months to go and it really doesn't seem that far away. Off to start a 'first cruise' check-list for packing so I can feel organized.
