How far in adance do you get your check in info from villa owners?

It seems like in the past, I've gotten it a few weeks before. We're leaving in a week and a half and I e-mailed the owner today. I hope that's not rude or unusual?

I know they don't want you to have the exact address, gate code and lock box code in your hands too far in advance, so I was just wondering.

Also, we do a lot of day trips, so I like to print mapquests using the house address, etc., just have everything organized, so that the week before I can relax and think about the fun stuff.

It varies from owner to owner I'm afraid so it can be anything from 8 weeks out to just one.I am sure the onwer won't mind you getting in touch and that they will send you the details very soon so you can get on with your planning for a great vacation .

You can use a "landmark" handy to the villa, ie, the Resort office address, WalMart, DTD, the airport as our "To/From" directions for Mapquest..if I didn't have the exact house address.

Ugh, I got an "out of office auto reply" that says he is out of the office on the 8th and 9th with a cell phone number, but it's the 12th and I sure as heck don't want to bother him on his cell number in the UK, but I am a little concerned now....maybe it's a good thing I didn't wait until the last minute.

As long as you bear in mind the 5 hour time difference - there is no problem Im sure in you ringing owner (just the expense!)
Owners will send details any time out after final balance paid.I personally wouldnt of thought any less than 3 weeks myself,but everyone will be different.

I got all my information (address, directions, key code) as soon as I paid my final payment... & that was 90 days out.... This is the first home we've rented so it really made me feel at ease! Good Luck!

Whew! Got an email on Friday saying that I'd receive it the beginning of this week and I got it today, exactly a week in advance... a little late in my worry wart opinion, but I'm not complaining
