Any particular genre that you specialize in? I've got a novel in the works - but it got put on hold this summer due to health issues. Hoping to finish it up by Christmas!

I don't specialize in any genre by choice, it just seems like most of my clients (not a huge number!) are fiction writers. I've edited contemporary mystery, Regency-era romance/adventure, travel articles, an adventure story translated from Arabic to English (that was a challenge!), and I'm currently working on a semi-autobiographical novel.

You may want to wait until you're closer to finished with your novel, but if you want to send me a PM, I'll be happy to discuss your work. My current client wants to be ready to send her manuscript to the publisher by Christmas, so I'll be free after the first of the year.

Congratulations on your project; writing a book is not easy and I admire those who do it. I hope to hear from you.

Wow, I'm kind of surprised I'm on an island by myself. I knew my commute was uncommon, but I figured someone else would have a super long commute too

Those people can't respond yet. They're still on the road.

Anyway, my commute is 2.9 miles. Right now it takes less than ten minutes. I'm dreading the school year. It's going to at least double.

19 miles on back roads, but that way is longer, so I drive 23 miles each way to get on the freeway, which is faster.

36 miles one way. I started taking an express bus and I love it. I see pretty much the same people every day. Sometimes we'll chat a bit or it's nice to read or close my eyes and relax. Much less stressful than driving and dealing with weather issues in the winter.

Mine's only 12 miles but I take public transportation and it takes me about 1 hour, 15 minutes door to door on an average day.

Mine is 0.5 miles away if I drive. If I walk, it's 2 blocks to the back of the school, and I can walk up the back path through the field. 2 minute drive, 5 minute walk.

My husband is 32 miles away. Can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. Usually it's just over an hour. He's jealous of my commute. lol Luckily, he loves his job, so it makes it less painful.

A little over 3 miles. Less than 10 minutes if I don't get caught at any of the traffic lights. About 15 minutes if I do.

My commute used to be about 7 miles. My company actually moved closer to my house about five years ago.

About 5 miles. Normally takes 7-10 mins if most traffic lights are green. Otherwise if lights don't play in my favor or school is starting/getting-out traffic to work is 20-30 mins for the short 5 miles.

20-25 miles each way depending on which school I'm at in the district. Used to be 40-50 (again depending on which school I was at for the day), but I moved closer to work a few years ago. Almost entirely highway miles, so unless it's snowing (it's NH, sometimes we go to school in the snow), my drive time is about the same as the mileage. I don't mind the driving at all, as it's decompression time with whatever music I want to listen to before/after hectic days. And, admittedly, I chose to not live in the district I work in when we moved so that I can go out in public without constant parent conferences.

I used to have a 40 minute commute, about 30 miles.
Started a new job in May. My office is located 3 blocks from my door, I probably spend more time pulling out of the garage and parking in the lot than I do in drive time. 5 minutes total?
I make home visits, so I still do a fair amount of driving each day, but it doesn't add any "time" to my overall working hours.

My commute is 2.4 miles. I ride my bike except when weather is too bad. Once upon a time I commuted 90 miles each way to Jersey City, NJ.
