How far away is the ocean to where you live?

1.5 hours from home to the Pacific Ocean.

2 Minutes from our "summer" cottage. Funny thing is we rarely go in the summer but are always there in the winter. We really love the rock, angry Oregon coast.

Okay, I'm going to use this with my DD15 tonight or tomorrow. So that I look smart, what first public beach? I'm thinking of one, but don't want to embarrass myself. Ha.

I grew up about 5 min from the beach in Oregon. I know live about 5 min from the beach In Va Beach now. Hoping to live by the gulf coast again. That's my happy place beach.

Living on the south shore of Long Island in a town that is on the water, about 2 minutes away from the bay and town beach and about 10 minutes from the big beach.

5 minutes to the bay- 10 minutes to the ocean- we rarely go, once or twice when they have a concert there but that's about it, not into getting sandy and prefer a nice warm pool to the freezing cold ocean.

We're just 10 minutes north of the Atlantic and 25 minutes south of the Long Island Sound. I grew up landlocked in Pittsburgh and even though I've lived here for 13 years, am still amazed that the beach is so close!

We're a five minute drive to the Fire Island ferry where we board the ferry for a quick trip across the Great South Bay. It's a five minute walk from the ferry dock to the Atlantic Ocean.

Right now the Pacific Ocean is about 1/2 mile from our home, we can see it from our front porch. Next month we will be living in FL by the Atlantic, though just not as close

We just moved to Pawleys Island, SC. The beautiful beach is a 10-minute walk or very brief golf cart ride from our house. Loving it!

I can see the ocean from my house. It is maybe a 2 minute drive the nearest beach. We have lots of beautiful unspoiled beaches near us. Never parking issues and never crowded.

Fifteen minutes if I go to Jones Beach-- the boardwalk at night in the summer is one of my favorite things about Long Island.

Add an extra 5 if I want to go to our smaller, less crowded (and much smaller since Sandy) town beach. But the drive along Ocean Parkway itself is worth the extra 5 minutes-- it's heavenly!

Despite the blue eyes and blonde hair, I LOVE the beach, especially from about 8:30 am until about 11-- even that's about half an hour too much for my skin. But I could sit there in the early morning quiet and just stare at the ocean every day. It's mesmerizing, like doing the same thing in the winter with a fireplace.
