We have been to Maui twice and are really looking forward to Aulani and Oahu. yes it is expensive but we found a lot of great "out of the way" type places for meals. There was a deli right by our hotel and I would walk over in the morning and get fresh sandwiches and salads for about $15. There are tonnes of places to get a cheap "plate lunch". We plan to hit Target and groceries and only splurge on a few meals.
