What do they say? Best laid plans?
Our college son is working in the Magic kingdom this summer!
He loves it, to say the least. Our family was planning to drive down and pick him up in person, rather than put him on a plane to get him home. We'd like to see him at work, you know? Take a couple (dozen!) pictures. Meet his friends, get the tour while it's all still fresh.
Our plan was to meet my inlaws at their Florida house and spend the week together.
Weeeeelllllll...their Florida house (15 minutes from Disney) is something they rent out to people a few times a year. Right now there is a Christian family from Egypt staying there and they just asked permission to rent the house for 6 more months. Given the upheaval in their country, and their Christian faith, they are choosing to stay in the US for now, maybe permanently.
Oh, my goodness! Can't argue with that! So, I guess we look at Plan B or C for our trip! We could see if OKW has any villas, though even that could be hard on such notice. Or we could wait till the kids all have their fall break in October and stay somewhere on points. Our high schoolers and college boy do indeed have the same week off. Or we could save all our points and try something different and pay cash. The nice thing about using points is not spending cash, but then you've used points.
So, we're torn. Discussing it today, might be back later with an update.
