How easy will it be to rent 150 points for Aulani in June?

With our contract for BWV accepted by seller and now waiting for it to pass Rofr, I'm contemplating the best way to use 203 banked points coming that must be used by Nov 2016. Living in California it's pretty easy to get to Hawaii during school breaks. Looking at the points necessary for a 1 bd villa ocean view in June, I'm curious if renting out the balance needed from a broker or owner is an easy option or am I living in a fantasy world occupied by most new Dvc owners?

I guess there could be a two part issue with obtaining that ressie. Less than 7 months out and finding enough points to add to our banked amount. Is it a fairly common practice to begin with for owners to rent (not borrow) other points for their vacation needs? Thanks in advance!

I am not an expert, but i would say very small. Based on reading here, June is a lower point season than July. So, it books up fast right at 7 months. I think it would be hard to get at this point.

So maybe if I have flexible dates in the summer we have a shot? I'm not locked into June. Not really too concerned with the higher points necessary either as much as availability before we lose the points.

Maybe it would be easier to get a nice 1 bd villa in HHI? Summer in the east not my fav but it looks very nice.

The need to own at HHI to book in the summer is why many buy there. Aulani is more likely but perhaps not June.

I can see this. Since I probably won't be able to make my first ressie till March, I may have to get creative as to the best way to use those banked points. Maybe later in the summer might work.

You'll just have to wait and see what availability is and depending on your flexibility see what you can do. Since you still have some time before you can book that will be putting some pressure on getting something since the resorts at WDW are not on your radar, but Aulani is large. We've booked there on less notice but were flexible and looked for times that were open, but it was different times of the year than summer.

I tried to rent points for last June at Aulani from a couple of the points brokers with no success.
