How easy is it to get your Apartment Complex preference?

So has anyone here ever requested a certain apartment complex and not gotten it?
I know that the staff tries to be very accommodating but I don't want to have to show up two hours early to secure my spot. I believe May 16th is one of the first check in for the fall advantages, would that help my chances?

Then again I want Patterson, so that might not be in demand either way.

I have no idea, because this is my first program, but I am also curious about this. I am a non-traditional student, so am older. I am hoping to be put in a one bedroom in Patterson. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I don't think anyone knows the answer for sure. But I've heard that each check in day they have a certain amount of apartments in each of the three complexes that they put people in. So it depends on if all the units for that day are gone rather than if it's earlier or later in the check in date period.

I would definitely say people have walked away with their second or third choices before. You never know what will be available the day you check in. Maybe you want a 1BR and maybe they'll have two available. Personally, I got there early last time, I'm getting there early this time.
