How easy is it to drive from WDW resort to parks?

We're staying at ASMO and driving our van there. I've done some reading about the buses, and although they sound easy to get around on - we plan on bringing our rather large double stroller with us (more storage, reclines)

So what I want to know is, are signs easily located to get us to MK, MGM etc? Will guest services be able to give us maps if we request them?

Thanks!

We have always found it VERY easy to drive around WDW property.

Hi Cheerio,

It's very hard to get lost on WDW property!

The MK is the hardest of the parks for drivers because after you park your car you still need to take a tram to the TTC, then the boat or the monorail to the MK entrance. It will be at least 10-15 minutes from the time you park until the time you are in the MK.

Thanks! I'm assuming the buses from ASMO drop you right off at the gates of MK? Maybe that would be easier :rotfl:

we do it all of the time - it much faster, epecially after a late night the park. Waits for buses can be VERY long. Maps, and signs make it very easy to get around.

Yes - MK is the only park that it's easier to take a bus to get to. All other parks will be easier for you to drive to from ASMO.

One thing that I noticed when I stayed at ASMO...............It's pretty easy to get to the parks. There are many signs directing the traffic to each park. However, while it isn't incredibly challenging, finding your hotel at the end of the day is more tricky than finding the park at the beginning of the day. It helps if you have someone riding shotgun who reads the signs. Certain signs will have many locations with arrows as you get closer to ASMO. If you are driving, you may not be able to find your hotel on the sign in time. One little tip that helps me is that if you are stayinging in the All Stars Resorts, follow the signs to Blizzard Beach (it is close) until you pass Blizzard Beach on your left. Then, pay closer attention to the All Stars signs.

Another possible point of confusion for those deiving back to the All Stars Sports resort..........There is the All Stars Sports Resort and there is the Wide World of Sports Complex. Make sure that you follow the signs to the All Stars Sports RESORT.

It is very easy to navigate on Disney property, especially to the parks. It will most likely be easier though to use Disney transportation to the MK though.

If you are travelling to another resort, familiarize yourself with the area that resort is in. Sometimes that can get a little confusing because the signs might be marked Magic Kingdom Resort area, Epcot Resort area, etc.

You guessed it. MK is very difficult to get to by car. take the bus whenever you can, it makes things a lot easier.

Very easy to drive around and follow the signs. No need to be concerned about that. Take the bus to MK as previously mentioned.

We always drive. When leaving the parks we leave when everyone else does and I HATE to wait in line after a long day at the parks. It is so nice to be in your own car. This is not the norm but one night we waited for about an hour just to get on the boat going to Wilderness Lodge

Driving around Disney isn't that bad. There are times when the buses are more convenient but they do tend to be slower because of the initial wait. The signs around the property are good about telling you what is coming up next and give you plenty of warning about where to turn.

We drive to locations not serviced by the monorail, just more convenient than the bus in my opinion.
