I would like to resort hop while we are there as well. We have one day sectioned off to do this. I'm not sure we'd get to all of them, but we could do several.
We are staying at CBR, but I thought we could do this:
-Take the bus to Epcot and walk over to the Epcot resorts. You can pretty much cover all of them walking right? That should allow us to cover YB, BC, BW, Swan, & Dolphin.
Yup. You'll have to exit Epcot from the International Gateway entrance, which most people call the "back" but is actually more like the side (between the UK and France). You'll have to walk through the park to do this, however - the busses are at the front entrance, not IG.
-Afterward, take the monorail from Epcot to the monorail resorts. That should allow us to cover PR, CR, & GF.
Better way: Take a bus to MK from any of the Epcot resorts and start your monorail trip from there; otherwise, you'll have to walk all the way back through Epcot to get to the monorail station at the front.
I also recommend that you do the monorail resorts and the Epcot resorts on different days, otherwise you'll spend almost a whole day just exploring, and by the time you're done, you will be so tired that you'll skip something or miss something.
-Take a boat to DTD and spend a little time and then take a boat to WL.
There is no boat from CBR to anywhere else; to get to DTD you will have to take a bus.
There is also no boat from DTD to WL. The boats from DTD run to the two Port Orleans resorts and Saratoga Springs.
To get to WL, take a boat either from MK, or from the Contemporary; the boat from CR to WL is a smaller launch (about the size of the Jungle Cruise boats), while the boat from MK to WL is a big one. Either way gives you terrific scenery.
-We are actually doing a split stay at CBR then AKL so those are covered.
Excellent choices; be sure to go up to the 5th floor at AKL and take in the fabulous view of the lobby from the faux suspension bridge (it's actually a solid steel bridge but made to look like a suspension bridge).
-We are less interested in POR, CSR, and FW.
Same here, but they are all wonderful resorts. If you can make time, give them a gander. At the very least, try the Trail's End Buffeteria in FW - simple, excellent food at a reasonable price, with a relaxing, low-key atmosphere.
-But we would like to check out the All Stars. These are all grouped together, right?
The 3 Al-Stars are all grouped together and are walking distance from each other. Take a bus from any park to any of them and you can walk the rest of the way. I recommend doing the All-Stars on whatever day you want to visit DTD; take a bus from any park to the All-Stars, do your exploring, then take a bus to DTD for an evening of dinner and shopping.
Could we do all this in one almost full day? This is the day we arrive, so we are not planning on focusing on parks that day-just checking out the other stuff.
-Most resorts we just want to look around, maybe grab a bite to eat at a CS place. Though we do want to rent a surrey bike at the BW.
It would be possible to do all of that in one day, but not advisable. You'd be worn out and miss all sorts of stuff. I recommend taking 3 or 4 hours on 2 or 3 afternoons as a break to do your resort hopping; spread it out. I will often do my monorail resorts run on my MK day, and my Epcot resorts day on my Epcot or MGM day. The All-Stars won't take you as long to explore, even though they are quite large and will require a lot of walking, because frankly, there is not as much to see there as at the Deluxe resorts.
