My nieces and nephews will be here for their spring break and the theater is doing free kids' movies. The week they are here it's Shrek, so they aren't new releases or anything..How early would you go?

I would get there at least a half hour early so you can get your choice of seating and snacks if you're buying any. And if anyone needs a bathroom stop too.

I'm mostly just worried about them running out of seats.

I don't know where you are, and that may make a difference, but I worked at a theater all through high school and some of college....and I've NEVER seen a morning kid movie run out of seats. I'm assuming that's what we're talking about...like 10am or so showings of older kids movies? They're super fun, but not really a big crowd draw. Most parents are working that time of day, even during summer. I'd still be 1/2 an hour early at least so you have time to pick the seats you want.

Regal has free (now $1) movies during the summer and we go a lot. The movies start at 10am and we get there no later than 9:15. This gives us time to get in and get snacks before getting our seats. We have seen them sell out, too. A lot of day cares will come with their large groups of kids (talking 3 small busses full). I try to get there before them since they all have to sit together and can fill up a theater easily. Hope this helps.

We went to the first showing of the summer last year. My son was only 3 and it was super crowded. There were lots of buses in the parking lot full of kids from local daycare. We only went to that first movie but I think I am going to try it again this summer.
