How early to be at EWR?

We have an 8:30am flight from EWR on Saturday, 11/14. How early should we be at the terminal?

Also... Approximately how long would it take, early on a Saturday morning, to get to EWR via SuperShuttle from the Times Square area? I'm trying to decide how early to leave the hotel to get to the airport. Do you think we'd be OK if we scheduled a 5:30am pick-up?

That's about 30-40 minutes on a good traffic day, right?

I haven't flown out of Newark in quite a while, but the last time I did I was attending a convention at Javits and took a towncar super early on a Saturday like you're talking about...took 60+ minutes because of some minor hold up near the Holland tunnel. It's NY -- if you think it'll take 30 minutes...budget an hour plus.

5:30am sounds reasonable to me.

For a domestic flight, you should arrive 2 hours before your flight, so if there isn't a lot of traffic (and there shouldn't be), you'll be fine. If you want to be very cautious, you could leave at 5. If you're using a car service, they can advise you.
