On our way to a Halloween Party last night we stopped at a stop sign. DD's looked over into an open window of a house and screamed "THOSE PEOPLE HAVE THEIR CHRISTMAS TREE UP!" Sure enough, completely decorated and already lit! :lmao: :lmao:

Well, when we moved into our house we had an extra room with no furniture in it. We put up our Christmas tree and Snow Village in that room. Since this is a weekend house, we never got around to taking it down. It stayed that way for three years, until we finally decorated and bought furniture for that room.

I must say, it was fun to turn on the Christmas lights in July!! :teeth:

Target is already selling their XMAS stuff...

Do you know the family? We left our (fake) Christmas tree up until February two Christmases ago because my husband was deployed. Perhaps they have a deployed spouse and celebrated Christmas before s/he left?

Could be that. We live on the north side of town but have Ft. Benning at the south. Hadn't thought of that.

In 2004, I had a miscarriage in early October. I was so depressed. To cheer myself up and get out of that funk, I put up all our Christmas decorations. I dont think I'll ever start in October again, but I'm aiming to get mine up in November!

It's never too early to celebrate christmas!

Too early for a Christmas tree, but could it have been a Halloween tree with orange/multi lights??

That makes a lot of sense! My bet is either that or they just really like Christmas! Hey Target was putting out Christmas stuff last week!

I remember the year my Mom passed; on her last Christmas she kept saying she didn't want to take the tree down (it was a small fake tree). I said if it makes you happy, leave it up! She left it up until March that year; she passed in July. I think she had a premonition that it would be her last tree.

Anything before Thanksgiving week is too early for me. But it doesn't bother me if others put theirs up around now. I am already getting into the Christmas spirit...I just don't decorate till after T-day. I will, however, start listening to Christmas music once we get into November a bit! :teeth:

I wonder if they realize they are going to have to dust their tree between now and then! This is way to early to have it up.

IMO. I don't like to think about decorating for Christmas until after Thanksgiving. DH prefers it to be December before we decorate.

My Mom puts hers up this week a day or two after Halloween....
She LOVES Christmas. I dont even put up atree all i have to do is go over there! There is a Christmas tree in every room, even the BATHROOM! :rotfl2:

I have a dear, dear friend who has a 'Celebration Tree' that is up year round, and decorated for various celebrations throughout the year.

I also think katerkat's explanation might have some creedence as well.

wow.....that's a tad too early for me.

i start decorating for Halloween in the beginning of October, and Christmas decorating doesn't start until the day after thanksgiving.
