How early is to early to pack?

My best friend was laughing at me earlier because I was talking about packing-we leave in fourteen days.I have four kids to pack for so it takes time.I think I will pack the things that I know they don't need for now.I am always up all night the night before we go but I am driving this time. :)

I dont pack unitl about 3 days before but all of the Disney hotels have irons and iron boards in the room incase you need to iron. As far as water goes I get a rental car and go the store and buy stuff when I get down there I also get a fridge for the room alot cheeper then paying full price for water at the parks!!!! Hope this helps

I put my summer things up in my suitcases in october, so i guess i start packing in october for a march-april vacation.....

Last minute packer here! I start gathering up stuff a few days before, but really pack the night before.

I have been tossing things into my suitcase in the attic for a couple of months now. We will be wearing summer clothes for another couple months, so can't do that yet. And it seems the earlier I start, the more I over pack. But it is fun...

we still have 7 weeks to go but if I didn't need to wear my clothes they would be packed today

Oh, how I wish I could be an early packer! Today I washed our water shoes that were in a bag in the garage still filled with sand from our January visit to Castaway Cay. Does that count?

Lets see, I leave the 29 of September. My guess is I will come home from work on the 28 and be up all night doing laundry and packing; and still throwing things in the bags in the morning. :laundy:

Basically, I’m domestically challenged.

I was just curious how early everyone else actually starts packing their suitcases? I've had lists for weeks, I've had our clothes layed out for days and now I want to start putting them in the cases!!! I STILL HAVE 12 DAYS to go!!!!!!

Also, do you bring a seperate suitcase just for water, juice and snacks or do you just pack it all in around your clothes. I'm afraid of breakage.

We leave the same day as you, I have gotten a few things ready to be packed, bathing suits, towels, some of the shoes, sunscreen, camera stuff, some clothes( but no mny yet)

I plan on being all packed by next wednesday!

that way thursday I can relax then go friday morning! :cool1:

So funny that you started this thread, I wasjust considering starting to pack myself. Then I realized that some of the stuff that I want to wear, I will still need between then and now. So maybe, I'll just start packing the other stuff so that I can be "doing" something.

I'm getting waaaayyy excited!
:cool1:

:rotfl: It's funny everyone keeps saying they are "packing up their summer clothes." What is that?! Here in South Louisiana it's still over 90 degrees!! :furious: We wear our "summer clothes" all year long (maybe sometimes with a coat), so we can't really start packing that early! Haha!!!

Welll....let's see, 88 days to go. Yep! Time to pack!! What you need clothes for the next 3 months....????? :hyper:

Sure rub it in. You guys in the south, what with your long summers, warm winters, wearing the same clothes year round. :sunny:
Way up north here in New England, our trees are turning beautiful shades of red, orange, and yellow. Our windows are closed. Our summer clothing has been packed away, waiting until, maybe April to see the light of day again. We will soon be bundled up in our sweaters, down coats, scarfs, boots, long johns, (for you southerners that is underwear that covers all them important parts :rotfl: ) and gloves. We will watch the evening news to see what the weather will bring, snow, rain, sleet, and a slew of other ewwwy-mess. Will the roads be closed, will school get cancelled, will the electricity go out, and we can't see, eat, or get warm.

Man I need to move!

We just got a cold front in so it is almost time to put away the summer clothes. That being said, I put them in the suitcase~ :cool1:

I'm soooooooo last minute to pack! lol But about 2 months before the trip I start a "disney drawer" full of stuff I know I need to pack or that I've bought specifically for the trip! lol

I'm usually a last-minute packer, but the past two years for WDW, I've been so excited I started getting organized and packed at least a week and a half in advance. :)

I pack at least 4 weeks before leaving. This way, I've gone over my list and stuff and never forget anything. I have certain clothes only for Disney and rarely wear them around home. Having my bag packed get me over the last minute jitters of leaving and trying to remember if I got everything, wife does it about a week out and is always repacking or messing around with her bag, and always takes way more then she can use or wear. I'm made a Disney packing list, by day for my clothes and a list for my travel goodies and always have what I want or need while on property.

Packing ahead, gets me in the mood for the magical trip. I even place a reminder in my computer, to get my **** cracking on packing early. We do the last minute run to the store for essentials a month out too. And we do the last minute food and candy and junk run few days before actually leaving.

I have been packing the box that I need to ship to AKL. As for the suitcases I will start to pack for WDW when I unpack them taking DS17 on a 3 day college tour in Minnesota. So I would say for this trip I will start on October 4.
