How early do you really need to be for EMH at AK to get a relatively short wait on FOP in mid August? If it starts at 8 and you get there at 7:45, how bad is it?

How early do you really need to be for EMH at AK to get a relatively short wait on FOP in mid August? If it starts at 8 and you get there at 7:45, how bad is it?

Without knowing how current events will impact and only going on what was happening, if you get there at 7:45, you're waiting an hour. If you can get there at 7:15, you'll probably walk with the crowd through the queue and onto the ride and be off by 8:15 or so. Yes, you're still waiting almost an hour, but you're waiting when the park is not open, so you're not using time that you could be riding other things.

When the parks reopen, the waits are unknown at this time.
Previously, if you weren't in line, meaning at the tapstyles, about an hour before official opening, or EMH in this case, you were waiting a long time.
Last October, we arrived 60 minutes prior to EMH. Got in the park 30 mintues before opening and were held at the bridge to Pandora. Had about a 10 minute wait to get on the ride. When we came out, the wait was 90 minutes. If you arrive at 7:45, expect at least an hour wait, probably more.

The line at AK builds really fast. When I was there for EMH, we got there at 7:15 and the line reached the ticket offices. By 7:30 it was a sea of people reaching the buses area.

When they let everyone in, the FOP line was already marked at 3hrs. I strongly suspect at the very beginning this was for crowd control purposes. However, the line reached the bridge from Pandora to Africa really quickly as well.

I would've waited if I didn't have a FP for later in the day, but instead opted to do a walk on for NRJ.
