We are having family over on December 18th. We have already talked to them to make sure the date worked for everyone, but I would like to send an invite as a reminder.

How early should I send these? Thanks! :)

For birthday parties, etc., around 2 weeks.

It sounds as though you are planning a holiday get-together, I would probably go ahead and send it out right now so people will know to send the date.

For DD's HS graduation party, I sent the invitations out a month in advance.

For something around a holiday I would probably send them 4-6 weeks in advance. Otherwise 2-3 weeks is usually fine. As the holiday season gets closer it gets more difficult to "work things in" on the calendar, so I would rather have more notice so I can plan my have to dos and still have time set aside for my want to dos.

I would send them out one month in advance ( in about a week and a half or so) but now would be fine too I think.

I also send them out a month in advance so that people can mark their calendars, request off,... then you can just remind them by word of mouth as the event gets closer.

I like to do a month for any activity. In busy summer weekends or holiday time I tend to try for 6 weeks, but 4 is usually ok.
