How early do you leave in the am?

Just wondering how early most people leave the resort in the morning to head to the parks. We are going to try to arrive at opening this time.

It's hard to roll out of bed after having walked for miles the day before in the parks. So far we usually only manage to leave the resort around a half hour before park opening. By the time we arrive, walk to the ticket area and get admitted, the park has already opened.

If we plan to arrive at opening time, we generally try to get there a half hour before the gate open. I'm not a patient person when waiting for the entry line to move so I'd rather wait for the gates to open and be one of the first ones in the park, even if its just to sit on the concrete rings around the trees and wait for the MK opening show. So, if MK opened at 9:00AM we would want to be there about 8:30. So we'd probably be at the bus stop at our resort by 8:00AM. Some times this back fires and a bus picks us up immediately and we spend a long time waiting for the park opening.

We are usually on the first bus/boat out of the resort, sometimes as early as 7:15-7:30am. We usually go to EMH mornings. If we aren't doing EMH mornings, we are up and eating breakfast by then, and getting on the bus by 8 or 8:15.

We are early risers anyway, a normal work day I am out of bed at 4:45am, so getting up in WDW at 6 or so is great.

DisneyGeek2000 I'm like you I am up everyday at 4AM so getting up early at Disney is Great. I make early morning ADR's for Breakfast . This gives me time to stroll the hotel grounds and take it all in while having my morning coffee. What a Great Way to start my day. I take a mid-Day break and relax.

We usually leave our room around eight. With two young ones, we don't want to wake them up too early on vacation.

We are usually out of the room by 7:15. We always do an early breakfast.

It depends where we're going and how we're getting there, but count us in as people who like to be there early, ideally at opening. For us, it's worth it.

We are the exception...we tend to roll into the parks by 10:00...but we have been a million times so we don't "commando tour" anymore. We are happy to stroll and see a couple things, eat, stroll, eat, then eat again.

LOL! When I do get to sleep, its the 3yo DS that wakes me at 6!!!!

As to what time we leave the resort, it really depends on which resort we are staying at and which park we are going to.

We usually try to get to the park about 30 minutes before opening time, a little earlier when we want to get a good spot to see the opening ceremony at MK.

been there too many times to worry about seeing or not seeing something. we just like to stroll and smell the roses, then ride some rides here and there.

I'm usually out the door 6:30/6:45 to get a bus to breakfast somewhere, then get to a park by opening.

I like to sleep in and take forever to get ready. I usually leave my room by 10:30am.

Wow, I didn't know they opened the gates that early!

Seriously though, we usually don't roll out of bed until ~9, by the time we get moving, dressed, etc it's easily 11am before we're on the bus.

Of course, staying out at DTD and PI until whenever in the morning doesn't help getting up early at all

This is us too. Our first trip we tried the 'get there early' plan! It was a total failure for our family. We were all tired and grumpy all day long! So now we sleep in, take our time, eat a meal ... and surprisingly it's all still there when we get there!!

Usually I'm there on a "high volume" week, so the parks open at 8 a.m., which means we're there at 7:30. I get up at 5:30, wake everyone at 6, we're out the door by 7.

It's just not worth fighting the crowds later, to enjoy sleeping in on a Disney vacation.

It seems like everyone here is anticipating that you need to leave your room /get on transportation 30 min before you want to get to the parks right? That is good advice if I'm following it correctly!

We like EMH mornings, so plan on parks opening at 8:00 am, leaving room at 7:00 am to arrive at the parks 1/2 hour before opening. I guess we'll roll out of bed at 6:30 at the latest. This will probably be tough for us, BUT we will take a nap everyday to counter act any grumpiness!

We generally hang by the pool til after lunch. We then head over to the parks. The only time we've been before park opening was for an EMH. That was a total waste of time. After that fiasco we just perfer to get there when we feel like it.
