How early can you check in?

I can confirm that checked in at 7:30 am, and with a little pixie dust my room was available (though I would never expect it before 4:00PM). One of those nice occasional perks of being DVC over CRO.

I don't think it had anything to do with being a DVC member. It is more likely that they either had a room available for you (room ready policy) or your assigned room hadn't been occupied the night before. I would guess that whether you were DVC or CRO didn't play into it.

We've also been lucky (both with DVC reservations and with CRO reservations) to get our room very early. We've also had to wait until 4:00 sometimes. It really is the luck of the draw.

That just meant the room was empty the night before, I don't think it had anything to do with being a member.

I know it happens sometimes for CRO, I got into AKL at 2pm this year but just by reading the boards it seem to be more common for DVC, but maybe it is just my perception.

I really think it is just the luck of the draw. I don't think that the check-in CMs pay that much attention to who is a member and who isn't. Rooms are ready when they are ready, for any guest. But it sure is nice when it's your room that's ready early, isn't it!?

Ooh, well that's a horse of a different color then. Wonder if they'd be more likely or less likely to honor room requests at that hour...

They will not give you the room number until it is ready. General location is all they are suppose to let you know. However, I'm sure they can try and accomodate your requests by changing the preassigned room that early.
