How early can you book Room Only?

I thought I read somewhere that you can book room only about 500 days ahead. We plan on going Feb. 2010 & I tried to book Room Only yesterday. That's about 410 days ahead & the CM said it was too early. The computer wouldn't let her book it & I had to book it at 365 days ahead. Just checking if that is right or if I should try again w/another CM.

You can book a room 499 days in advance. The CM today told me that they are taking room only ressies up to May 2010.

You should be able to make a reservation 499 days in advance of your last day at the resort. However they may not open all room categories at the resorts at this 499 point. But you should call back and try again.

Which resort were you looking for? Were you asking for a AAA rate? You can book a non guaranteed room only 499 days from the last day you want to travel

We didn't even get to which resort I wanted to book. First thing I gave her the dates (Jan. 31-Feb. 6, 2010) & she said the computer wouldn't let her go to those dates & that I had to wait til I was at the 365 day mark. I just want to book a room at CR. No special rates or discounts either. I hope in the future there will be another big discount to use for that time, but in the meantime I know I have a room reserved at the resort we want to stay at.
I guess I will call again since it looks like I should be able to make this ressie.

I did call back today & booked room only at CR. Yay!!! My only issue is that he charged me holiday rates for 2009, instead of value rates for the 1st week in Feb. It's $130/night higher than what the value rate is listed for 2009. He told me once 2010 rates come out, then my price will go down to value rates. I didn't realize that Disney would charge me the highest possible rate til the 2010 rates come out. It made my deposit alot higher than I was expecting. I did book it anyway b/c booking room only allows me to cancel w/no fees if they don't change the price. Now I just have to make sure that the change is made when the 2010 rates come out.

This is the way they do it when you are booking before the real rates are released. The deposit you pay will always be based on the highest current years rate for the room. They WILL change your rate to the correct rate when the rates are released next year.

Does the same 499 days apply if we are looking to book a 2 bedroom villa at BC? Can I still get the room only for my time and hope for discounts later. We will be there this year in Sept (which was the previous time to book FD bounceback for the following year). Does anyone know if the 2 bedroom BC villas can be booked in the bounceback? And if so, how to apply them to an already booked room only.

You probably won't get availability for a 2 bedroom villa that far out. They will hold them for DVC members,Two bedrooms will be released about 6 months out.
