I hope instead of mowing on Sunday you will try a visiting a local church. Can you mow on Saturday? On Saturday most neighbors mow here anytime after 10 a.m.
God bless you!
And I would hope that you would stop wasting your precious time by going to church.

Perhaps they'll be in a local synagogue then.........would it be OK to mow on Sunday in that case?

Believe it or not, the whole country is not Christian. So you won't find us in synagogue on Sunday morning (though I am there Friday nite and occasionally Saturday morning).

I would suggest that you ask your neighbors. I know in the south it's extremely hot during the summer by 9 am, so the earlier you can mow the better off you are.

My BF and I both get up during the week at 5 am, so we like to sleep late on Sat/Sun. Since we live in the NE, we don't have air conditioning, so we have all our windows up. You fire up that lawn mower on a Saturday or a Sunday morning at 8 am and you won't have to worry about dealing with this 40 something menopausal woman yelling at you in her PJ's because my BF will beat me out the door to ask you what the @$&@&$ you think you're doing. :goodvibes

Last summer, we were awakened at MIDNIGHT during the week by a neighbor across the street running a table saw, drill and hammering. He was rehabbing his downstairs apartments with the windows up and didn't think anyone could hear him.

DH and I had this discussion this morning--I feel 10am on Sunday, 9am on Saturday. DH thought 9am would be OK today too. He humoured me and waited until 9:25, and mercifully there were no irate, pajama-clad neighbors on our stoop. He was the second one out in our neighborhood today.

I had a problem years ago with a neighbor mowing the lawn at 8am on a sunday. I tend to be a night owl. A few mowings at 3am solved the problem.

This is a pet peeve of mine. We live in a neighborhood where 90% of the homeowners hire a service to do the yardwork. I just don't understand why one neighbor's service has to start at 7 AM on Saturday!! Most of us have our guys come during the week - during the day! When these same gardeners are done at our neighbors (not even talking about right next door!) they drive around the corner and do someone else's lawn. We are on the second story with windows on 3 sides of our bedroom. Noises echo up there! We are just outside town limit - otherwise they couldn't start until 9 AM! And, during the summer, the heat doesn't really become a factor until noon - and we have no humidity!

(It didn't deter them when, on the Saturday between Christmas & NYE the year before last - I got in my car, drove the 2 houses down and told them to knock off the noise!)

Alex, I like your style! ;)

We're serious night owls, too. Apparently the only ones in our neighborhood, though. We just get up, close our windows, crank up the AC, and fall back into our early morning coma.

I think if you feel the need to mow before 10 am on ANY day, that you should ask your neighbors. DH works retail and does not have weekends off. He routinely doesn't get home until after 2 am. We had to have the sheriff intervene when our neighbor refused to stop mowing at 6 am. I'm sure there are a lot of people out there in similar situations.

If you were my neighbor, it wouldn't bother me if you were out there at 6 a.m.. I would wake up, but then I'd be able to go right back to sleep because I don't find the sound of a lawn mower annoying..

However - if it was a dog barking constantly - or loud music - that would be annoying to me..

ROFL!

In our area, noise ordinance is until 8am, so people don't start until then. Even that is way too early for me but I don't do mornings. I think 9am or 10am on the weekend is fair, but I'd see what others in your area are doing, too. If someone else is out at 8am, I'd get out there too.

Here in Texas in the summer, people would kill over if they waited until 10am, so i don't complain - I know it's a necessary thing to do it early.

I try to mow early in the evening during the week once it's cool enough to stand it. I guess that I'm different that way. ;)

No, you aren't different. We do that too! Who wants to spend their weekends mowing? :teeth:

We mow either in the evenings or on Saturday. I live right next door to a church so I won't mow on Sunday morning while Sunday school and service is going on. I'm just curteous that way! LOL
But I would agree no earlier than 10am.

I'm a night owl too, and two weeks a month I work until 12 or 1am. When solicitors call me at 9am in the morning, I always ask fortheir home numbers so I can call them at 2am and discuss whatever it is they want to discuss.

8am is way too early and inconsiderate.

10am I could deal with.
