How early can I check baggage before a flight?

I was going to store my luggage in a locker at LAX for the day (we have an 8:20pm flight, and checking out of hotel at 10am - was going to take the big blue bus over to Santa Monica for the day). I just found out the lockers are closed at LAX with no re-opening in the future (prob for security reasons??).
How early can I go to Alaskan Air and check in my baggage? Can I do this at 10 or 11 am for an evening flight? Thanks.
