Hello All. My family and I will be staying with our points at BLT for 4 days in Aug. 1st time we will be able to see the new resort! I want to try and see the MK fireworks from the Top of the World Lounge! How early should I plan on getting there? Do all the restrictions make it easy to get into, or do we need to really plan for this? Thanks!

WE have been a few times and usually head up between 20 and 30 minutes before start time and it is still very uncrowded.

Many get there about 10 minutes before hand. Since the KTTW cards may not have anything on it regarding DVC, I would plan to have my DVC blue membership card with me, just in case they ask to see it before letting you up.

Other than that, I don't think you should have an issue. We will also be there for 3 nights in August and plan to watch the fireworks from the lounge as well!

A couple more questions:
Kids can go in the Top of the World Lounge, correct? Do they serve food, or is it only beverages? The lounge is open to DVC members staying at BLT on points, right?
Thanks!

Children are welcome at the Top of the World. They do serve appetizers there to accompany your beverages.

Enjoy your stay!

Thanks for the info! I am hoping we can get in next summer. I'll be on the phone at opening time trying to get the reservation at seven months. Keeping my fingers crossed.

The menu is pretty limited - OK for snacks but I wouldn't plan on having dinner up there. We liked to get there about 30 minutes early and relax in the lounge with a drink. When it was time for the fireworks, we would go out on the deck. Planety of room out there!

20 or 15 minutes you should be fine.

just remember you need to go to the first floor and check in - then you can go to the 16th floor - unless your room is on the 16th floor...;)

try to get so you can see the castle - and then you can see Tink fly

We went almost very night last Christmas! About 15-30 minutes prior is good. If you are not taking the kids, get there leisurely and enjoy a drink-loved the martinis! The food is finger food-not really dinner unless you did several plates. If you have kids, the balcony is great as they can move around if they get bored (our son is autistic and needs to stem/move around so it worked great for us).

Enjoy and good luck-Elizabeth
PS. We carried our Blue DVC card with us to show them at the main level. They then escort you up to the top.
