How drunk can you get in Epcot?

I've never seen anyone drunk at Epcot, nor have I ever been drunk. I limit myself to one drink a night there, if even that. They are just so dang expensive...I'd love to drink around the world but it requires budgeting (would cost at least $100 if not more) and plannng (having a designated driver, time to recover, ect.). It's just not practical for me to attempt something like this yet, even though I am 21 and you'd think I'd have no inhibitions :cool1:

Oh I have. On our last trip there were three of them that stumbled into the bathroom where my DH was with our 3 y/o. I could hear them screaming and yelling from out on the street. They scared my 3 y/o and she was crying.

...

For OP - the ground's the limit.

Yep, that's where the puddles are :rotfl:.

I do find it odd people saying they have never see anyone drunk at Epcot. I can't recall being at Epcot and not seeing drunk people (and to be clear, very few who were obnoxious), but we are more often there during off season times when there seem to be more conventions going on or more adults travelling without kids.

To all my imbibing friends - Cheers! And have one on me!

I have been in Epcot hundreds of times - during all times of the year - several times during Food & Wine - and I have only seen obviously drunk people twice. I guess it depends on your definition. I go to NFL and NHL games all the time and rarely see drunks there either. However NASCAR is a totally different story! :lmao:

Well last time I got drunk was last night and I fell in a puddle and woke up frozen to the ground(I live in Canada). I had to take my pants off, they were frozen to the ground and walk home in my underwear.

I would call that not to drunk just a good time.

:thumbsup2

So be careful, the drinks do sneak up on you, especially if you are not used to the high alcohol content (for example, in a German beer).

German beers do not necessarily have higher alcohol content than other beers. It depends entirely on the kind of beer. Different kinds of beer, when correctly brewed, will have differing amounts of alcohol. There are plenty of very good, tasty German beers that have lower alcohol content than common mass-marketed American beers like Bud or Coors. Same for other countries -- it's more the type of beer than the country of origin.

.I guess in cheat but I'm not drinking that nasty Beer they serve in other countries. I'm OK with Mexico and England but after that I'm finding a place that has Bud!

You drink your way around the world... spending the insane amount of money it costs to do so in World Showcase... and you drink BUDWEISER? Seriously?

You might want to expand your palate a bit. Bud's okay in a pinch... but there are so many wonderful beers you're missing out on...

The one piece of advice I've not seen is whatever you are drinking, don't mix! If you start with beer, stick with beer. Start with wine & stay with wine. Mixing is just painful!

This is a common myth. The alcohol is the same, regardless of whether it came from beer or wine. People that mix are often drinking more than people who aren't, which means more alcohol. That's what leads to the painful consequences... not the fact that they mixed.

For what it's worth, I've never done the around the world thing... because it's just too expensive and I'd rather spend the money on other things. But I have gotten pleasantly drunk on good wine in the restaurants in the Italy pavilion. First time was on my honeymoon... my new bride and I split a bottle of white at Alfredo's. She had one glass and I had the rest. ;)

Much more recently, my group of seven (4 adults) split two bottles of red at Tutto Italia, and again I probably had most of one of the bottles.

But I haven't gotten falling down/sick the next morning drunk since college, twenty years ago. Certainly never in Epcot.

Just like any other situation involving alcohol, you have to know your own limits, your personal alcohol tolerance, and how to pace yourself. Getting sloppy, falling down drunk just looks (and feels) ridiculous on anyone who is much above the legal drinking age. But getting a nice, smooth drunk on? Why not?

For the record, I'm a tiny female (5'5", just over 100 lbs soaking wet). But I'm from New Orleans (the French Quarter, no less). I'm pretty sure I could drink any guy here under the table. I know *how* to drink, and I know how to maintain that wonderful level of drunkenness that's a lot of fun for me but not obnoxious to those around me. It's a skill, and an art form. Most of the drinkers I've seen at Epcot have perfected it pretty well.

Sloppy drunk=not good at a theme park
Fun drunk=:thumbsup2

I'm not against drinking- I'm certainly not one of those nincompoops who complains about people drinking beer in Biergarten, lol. But moderation is important and there are far too many people who can't handle their liquor. I'm a lightweight, and I know it so I only have a couple of drinks.

Fun thread.:thumbsup2

I really love the french beer and the wine tours in italy - stumble stumble!

I am a very picky beer drinker
but I'm not drinking that nasty Beer they serve in other countries. I'm OK with Mexico and England but after that I'm finding a place that has Bud!
Thats like saying "I'm a very picker eater... I may sit through Chefs De France, but after that, I'm going to McDonalds."

Says a wise old Jedi :yoda:
"Liquor then beer, never fear; Beer then liquor, never sicker"

Anybody like the chilled Saki in Japan? That's the first place I ever tried it. It's a warming drink! :bitelip:

I definitely agree. Just because it's from Germany doesn't automatically mean that there is a lot of alcohol in the beer. Though there is Sink the Bismark! (41%) and Tactical Nuclear Penguin (32%). They are made in Germany. Just because Miller and Bud are marketed well in America and is very well known doesn't mean that all American beer is crappy. (I can't comment on that, but because I am friends with those who are beer appreciators and one who home brews, I trust their opinions)

I definitely agree, though I can't comment on the "Bud's okay in a pinch" comment since I don't drink. My boyfriend disagrees unless that's basically your only choice. He's spoiled by all the great beer out there. He is lucky my uncle may be getting him a case of Hop Slam since he does business with Bells (he owns a grocery business). He is also lucky that he lives next door to Indiana so he can get some Dark Lord. :rotfl:

I can't wait til I turn 21 to try all the stuff my boyfriend and his cousin rave about. I probably won't like whatever they have me try, but it will be a great experience. I have already learned so much about beer without drinking it.

As one who has gotten destroyed on several occasions...i can say that the sheer amount of alcoholic outposts and generally laid back bystanders make it one of the best binging spots on earth...

of course...ridiculously priced...but you can't win em all

Charming thread.

I have noticed Fri/Sat nights are becoming very unpleasant to be in EPCOT in October. The locals come out then and they all seem to want to binge drink. CMs do need to get a better handle on this.

I may joke about drinking around the World and "topping up my Disney mug" during F&W but truth is I only drink to get that buzz feeling and then maybe once a trip at most. (5 or 6 times a year at a guess.) My personal limit is around 3 drinks. More than that and I go from buzz to drunk. I've been drunk enough times to realize it is just so stupid and dangerous. I once did a drinking contest on NYE I regret now because children saw what the adults were doing. It was a huge bad influence. We all agree just how incredibly idiotic it was and we were.

You can drink in EPCOT but I believe Disney is just as liable as the bartender who serves you at a local pub. And security is checking every guest that leaves for the parking lot. If you are disruptive and obviously inebriated you will be stopped. Then you go from having a fun time in Disney to being treated like the idiot you are. Drink responsibly people.

You will probably go broke first..But you can get plenty drunk as evidenced by the nice woman who vomited all over my shoes while trying to hit the bushes by the Mexican Pavilion.Just be careful and MINDFUL that there are others around, especially little kids.

21??????? Canadians start a lot earlier than 21, legal at 18 in Alberta and if you are French Canadian or a Newfy there is no age limit. Besides Canadians start early teens drinking(Bush parties).

How come nobody has given the secret canadian password for free beer for Canadians in the Canada part? You have to be Canadian to get the free beer, and the secret password is--- Hookybobin. And if you don't know what hookybobin is you are not Canadian anyway.

It's been 21 for a long time here in the US. You shouldn't act surprised. :rotfl: It's even younger in Germany and Austria (16 and 14 with parents' consent). I was in Germany what I was a couple months shy of 17 and I still never drank. My host family weren't big drinkers. I guess I'm a goody-two-shoes when it comes to drinking. :rotfl:

And that's fine that I don't know what hookybobin is because I'm not Canadian. :rotfl2:
