How does your car rental rate "go down"?

We're renting a full size car from LAX the end of March and my rate went down from $152.95 to $125.71 a few days ago. I just tried it again and it went up to $143. I guess all the promotion codes are used up for that time period. I'm glad I booked it at the $125.71 rate. I tried them all and in every combination I could think of. I'll try again later but I'm still happy with that rate for a full size for 7 days.
With National, the rate does go up in the month of your reservation. IE: if your reservation is in June, the rate tends to go down until May. Then in June, it rises again. Does that make sense?

When we tried the Turner link at home, we had the same problems with the error. I got a few family members through, after many tries, but then I had to do the last one at work, and it worked fine then. Maybe try someone else's computer??

Anyone ever had problems at check-in with that Priceless code? Do they ever ask where you got it?

Glad to help. I have never had a problem with the Priceless code and have never been asked anything about it.
I have heard that people using AOL have problems trying to join with the Turner code.

There must have been a problem with the link yesterday because it worked first try today. Using the Emerald Club, priceless contract and BJ's coupon I got an intermediate for 9 days for $188 in October. Not too bad.

Keep checking, I would almost bet that it will go down a number of times before October. Glad you got the link to work. :)

Never thought of it that way but now that I think about it, it does make sense. The further out you book, the better the rates. I never book the month I'm going so I never connected the reasoning.

When we went in January, we had to stay over one extra night because of a storm in the area of our connecting flight and one days rental (we had already turned the car in) was almost as much as it cost us for five days!

It keeps telling me my Emerald club is not available at the location. Anyone else find this for MCO?

Are you using an upgrade coupon? Is it bumping you to counter?

When/where do you get this message?

I'm glad I kept checking... and I booked at $209 for 12 days in a full size... because now the same exact rental is back up to $369

Now it's up to $488 same car same dates, same discounts (see above).. WOW it's all in the timing... and get it reserved EARLY!!!! it doesn't cost a dime to reserve one.

For my May 7 to 13 trip, I originally reserved for $150 in January. I redid the reservation and cancelled the old one about 4 or 5 times, I'm down to $100.41 for a full size ER, priceless code, $20 entertainment coupon. The last time I checked about a week ago, it was up to $128. My reservation for last December went down about $10 the week before the trip, I paid $112.
