How does vandalism and looting accomplish anything???

STL Today had their medical experts analyze the official autopsy and it backs Officer Wilson:
http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/...cle_e98a4ce0-c284-57c9-9882-3fb7df75fef6.html

The Washington Post states "Evidence supports officer’s account of shooting in Ferguson"
http://www.washingtonpost.com/polit...38c7b4-5964-11e4-bd61-346aee66ba29_story.html

Yet in the same article:
"Benjamin L. Crump, a lawyer for the Brown family, said Brown’s family and supporters will not be persuaded by the autopsy report or eyewitness statements that back Wilson’s account of the incident." The article also doesn't mention that in order for Crump to be able to file a civil suit for the family, there has to be an arrest.

IMO, they're leaking bits and pieces to prepare the community for a "No True Bill" which means no indictment.

While passions will be inflamed, they cannot arrest an innocent man just to make people happy.

Crappy lawyer.

Did not know arrest was required for a civil suit. Interesting.

Could they sue the PD for wrongful death? Or does they mean no civil suitor any kind can move forward?

From the WaPo story above:
Benjamin L. Crump, a lawyer for the Brown family, said Brown’s family and supporters will not be persuaded by the autopsy report or eyewitness statements that back Wilson’s account of the incident.

“The family has not believed anything the police or this medical examiner has said,” Crump said. “They have their witnesses. We have seven witnesses that we know about that say the opposite.”Crump also said one of the reasons the family and protesters were opposed to a grand jury proceeding was because it gives authorities too much control over what the public would learn about the case, as evidenced by the leaks.

“The family wanted a jury trial that was transparent, not one done in secrecy, not something that they believe is an attempt to sweep their son’s death under the rug,” he said.
We've seen this line of thinking repeated in the past whereby any group or entity that contradicts the narrative of what people "know" to have happened is simply dismissed as part of an ever widening conspiracy to deny justice.

The Mystery Machine~ a little OT, but still relevant...
My DD is interested in looking at SLU as part of her college search. Can you give a little info of what's going on there with the demonstrations on the campus from a local's perspective? :mic:

Sorry, meant to post that the rioters have left the SLU campus after the president of the university said they'd add classes dealing with black issues. In the agreement, they should have been gone by 10:30am but weren't. I don't know id the president will invalidate the agreement. Doubt it though.

I don't know however, it seems to me that if Officer Wilson is not culpable, how could they sue the FPD? The law works in mysterious ways though, lol.

It is supposedly "over". Here is the agreement.

SLU has been the center of many protests in the past 2 yrs over INTERNAL issues, not just this Ferguson incident. This is what you should research to be honest.

This is what many are taught by their "leaders and mentors". And, that's who reaps the benefits....not the people. This thinking isn't unique to Ferguson.

Benjamin Crump (the family attorney) is scary. He is aligning himself to be the next Al Sharpton/Jesse Jackson. Inserts himself into any racially charged case with no concern for the facts.

Now that the truth is coming out - How dare that get in the way of our protesting/looting/rioting?!

"Police investigating assault and theft following argument between Brown family relatives"

It is sad they are trying to make a buck off of his death.

Can't make this stuff up. smh

Crump keeps talking about the 6 or 7 witnesses for Brown. From what I understand, and I am not 100% sure, some of the witnesses had zero credibility and were not even called before the grand jury. It was one of the reasons that police had not let on what they knew. It can " separate the wheat from the chaff" as far as who is telling the truth.

1 admitted on FB that she was in a mental institution and used someone else's urine for a drug screen. When people started tweeting about this, she scrubbed the pages.

Another one says they saw this or that but the car was nowhere around the scene. This was easily found out from the videos and photos taken by residents.

A witness was arrested in Fl for beating a pregnant woman and has had other legal run ins.

A main witness was already in trouble with the court for having lied about their identity. Then, early on it was rumored that the witness "flipped" and reversed testimony. This person hasn't been seen since. It's thought that they're either in hiding or in protective custody.

Also, Crump never mentions there are 7 or 8 credible witnesses in the neighborhood who are backing Wilson's version. Since they haven't come forward, maybe fearing retribution, I don't know their backgrounds. The looters wrote on QuikTrip, " Snitches get stitches.".

McCullough has said that if there is no indictment, he will release everything brought before the grand jury.

Crump lost all credibility with me when he "explained" the findings of the private autopsy in his own words.

I'm sitting there thinking, "No rational human would buy his explanation of the entrance/exit wounds in conjunction with the alleged position Brown was in". It was like Jerry Seinfeld explaining the magic loogey all over again.

HaHa, theirs a Seinfeld episode to use in comparison for any situation isn't their.

That still does not justify withholding information in my book. Should have laid their cards on the table right away considering the climate of Ferguson.

No matter the "situation", citizens were asking what happened and they refused to answer.

If they had done that, Brown supporters would have said it was fixed. They couldn't anyway because the DOJ got involved.

Yes, remember the red mark he added to Baden's autopsy photo to try and prove that Brown was shot from behind?

From one of the protesters regarding recent leaks - pot, meet kettle!

"There is no way there should be reports from all these anonymous sources and these 'leaks' ...This is supposed to play out in the courts and the justice system, and not the media," said Patricia Bynes, a Ferguson resident and prominent voice in the protest movement. Quoting a popular chant, she added, "The whole damn system is guilty as hell."

Thank you, pooh4evr, Disneychick75 and They Mystery Machine for some of the information on SLU.

^^ Very interesting. Thank you for sharing, I really appreciate it.

:headache: They complain about transparency, yet from Chris Hayes, the reporter:

Lesley McSpadden does not want the police to release the report from the fight over the t shirts the other day.

Her Twitter account is Patricialicious,:rotfl2:. It's hard to take a committeewoman seriously with a name like that.

If the GJ has made their decision, those at the top might be leaking information while playing innocent to prepare the protesters. What I don't get is almost from the start, it has been obvious what happened. Why did outsiders push the "Hands up, don't shoot" agenda when they knew Brown was in the wrong?

Cause the first witness Dorian Johnson said, Michael Brown's hands were up he was surrendering, and the hardcore protesters took it as the truth and won't give it up even though he has admitted he lied, it was them in the store robbery video and so on. Rumor here from a highway patrol Sgt. i know is that he is in witness protection.
There was a story on Fox 2 st louis this morning I saw with an interview of one of the angriest protesters. The video he has is just vile, disgusting, hate. Screaming at officers, threatening them and "praying for their death" He really sounds like he should be in isis. I don't think I could keep my cool, as the officers are in the video. wow it really is hard to watch.

The guy you're talking about supports Hamas. ISIS has said they sent people in to support the protesters.

Just thought I would give an update to what is going on for those that are watching this from afar.

Talked to my sister who talked to her niece who lives and travels in the area in North County where all this crap is happening.

She is white, with her kids and people are shouting racial threats to her driving through the area.

Also she said people are lying in various parts of the streets blocking them off.

The tension is building while waiting for the grand jury to release their info on whether they are going to charge the LEO.

Aaaack, this is NOT going to be good. One school district has cancelled classes for this week. Not sure if others will follow suit.

Ridiculous.

I had a whole big paragraph written out, but I do not want to get a hand slap. I sure hope that the city and military and government are prepared.
