How does tranfering of points work?

We are considering putting some of our points up for rent and are trying to figure out the logistics. I see a lot of people talking about tranfering points, how does that work? Is there a fee? Someone please help!

When you transfer points to another member, MS deducts the points from your account and deposits them into a 'virtual' contract under the other members account. They will retain their original home resort and use year. MS does not charge a fee for this and you can only transfer points once per use year.

It is also against the DVC rules & regulations to charge for a point transfer.

Thanks, so if someone wants to rent say 200 pts and asks us to transfer, we can charge them to rent the points right? Or are we better off just making the reservation?

Legally/technically you can only charge for making the reservation.

Practically, it seems much easier to transfer. The transfer is final and you do not have to call MS to add DME, DDP, deal with changes from the renter or future non-payment...and the transferee gets full control of the points and peace of mind...
