Hi everyone. :goodvibes For our upcoming visit to WDW in August (only 43 days to go! :cool1:) we have a whopping 13 lunches and dinners to plan! For the most part, we eat a light breakfast at the hotel before going to the park, so there isn't a lot to plan, with the exception of a farewell breakfast at Boma. Here is the plan we have so far:
Tue 8/2-Dinner: Wolfgang Cafe
Wed 8/3-Lunch: Flame Tree, Dinner: Pizza Planet
Thur 8/4-Lunch: Biergarten, Dinner: Yakitori House
Fri 8/5-at USO (Comic Strip and Three Broomsticks)
Sat 8/6-Lunch: 50's Prime Time, Dinner: Yak & Yeti
Sun 8/7-Lunch: Liberty Tree, Dinner: Pecos Bill
Mon 8/8-Lunch: Rose & Crown, Dinner: Sunshine Seasons
Tue 8/9-Lunch: Earl of Sandwich, Dinner: Everything POP
Wed 8/10-Lunch: Mama Melrose's, Dinner: ABC Commissary
Thur 8/11-Lunch: Chefs de France, Dinner: La Catina
Fri 8/12-Lunch: Le Cellier, Dinner: Toluca Legs Turkey Co.
Sat 8/13-Lunch: Sci-Fi, Dinner: Boma
Sun 8/14-undecided, we will be at AK
Mon 8/15-Breakfast: Boma, Lunch: The Mara
How does this look? Did we miss anything great that we'll regret? Are we planning on a restaurant that others would not recommend? We aren't interested in signature dining, but we do enjoy having a good mix between counter service and good table service. I know that some people are talking about the quality of certain restaurants declining, so if I have any of those on our list, please let me know.

Thanks everyone. We are so excited! :thumbsup2

I think it looks really great--you clearly did your homework. You have a very good mix. For my preferences, the only way to improve would be to slip in a Kona Cafe meal somewhere. Have fun!

I think it all looks good. How far apart are your lunch/dinners at 50's PT/Yak & Yeti and Sci-Fi/Boma? I'm assuming you're park hopping for the first one? My only concern would be spending lots of time traveling for ADRs or just for ADRs, which I always try to avoid. But if they are spaced well then sounds good to me :thumbsup2

I agree with the amount of time you spend traveling. Hope you have a car. As long as they are spaced out for lunch and dinner should be good. It's a lot of eating for me, but my DH would love it! The only two you missed that we love are T-Rex in DTD and Whispering Canyon at wilderness lodge.

I'm very jealous, have fun!

We are staying at the POP for the first eleven nights and at the AKL for the last two nights. Everyday, we plan to spend the morning in one park, then back to the hotel, and then evenings in a park. When lunch and dinner are in different parks, we plan to have lunch before leaving the first, and then dinner after our break at the second park. I don't think any ADR's will add to our travel time, because I tried to plan what parks we would be in first and then decided where we would eat.

TheTurners; I have heard so much about the Kona, we actually thought about it, but it didn't seem to work into our schedule. :)

nkereina; the shortest span we have between ADR's is 5-1/2 to 6 hours, simply because we will typically be eating the bigger meal mid day, then resting and having a lighter dinner. Fingers crossed that it is enough time to go back to the resort, rest, and get to the next park. Oh, and hopefully everyone is hungry again! :lmao:

polly; I know everyone loves the Whispering Canyon, but that's at a resort, right? We are only eating at resorts where we are staying to avoid extra trips. :)

Thanks for all the feedback! I am just going to hope that food quality at all of our choices is good. :goodvibes

Hi! Just wanted to let you know that my friends and I tried to eat at the Three Broomsticks last summer, and we found the menu to be pretty blah. The only thing that looked tasty was the fish n chips, and who wants to eat that in 90 degree heat! So my advice would just be to check out the menu before you commit :) I've also heard nothing but negatives about abc commissary... But of course cs options at DVD are super limited... Maybe grab a bite to eat at the resort before heading over??

I think that as far as the Three Broomsticks, we are in it for the atmosphere more than the food. :goodvibes Even if the food isn't great, my kids have grown up on HP, and the chance to sit inside will probably be pretty cool.

I was wondering about the ABC; I thought I had read some sketchy stuff here on the DIS, but the UOG lists it as a favorite. I would take suggestions for any other counter service at DHS that might be a good replacement?

I'll throw my $0.02 in for the ones I've been to.

Flame Tree BBQ - pretty good, the best option at AK for the price.
Biergarten - I loved and highly recommend this.
Three Broomsticks - only tried their frozen Butterbeer, but yum!
Rose & Crown - we had lunch here recently and the food was just ok. Ambiance/service was good, though.
Toluca Legs Turkey Co. - can't go wrong with turkey legs :)

I would highly recommend Wolfgang puck Express we liked it better than the cafe. I think its one of the best CS in disney.

Also, starring rolls in DHS has great sandwiches and you can get huge cupcakes for your dessert.

If you like Pizza Planet in DHS-Pizzafari in AK is very similar. My son likes the pizza and I like the hot italian sandwich with side salad. :thumbsup2

Have fun!!

I know everyone loves the Whispering Canyon, but that's at a resort, right? We are only eating at resorts where we are staying to avoid extra trips. :)

It's at Wilderness Lodge, however it's not as inconvenient to get to as some other resorts since there is a boat from MK to WL. It's not real different than going to eat at a monorail resort. I've never been to Whispering Canyon but we have an ADR there in Sept :thumbsup2

We ate at Three Broomsticks on our trip last year and really enjoyed the food! We will eat there again on our trip in 2012!
