You go to Target looking for one item... You end up walking out of the store having spent $80, AND you didn't even find the item that you were looking for.

How does that happen?  :teeth:

I am physically incapable of walking out of Target without spending at LEAST $60.

Target secretly sprinkles Target dust on you as you walk in the door. Happens to me every time. The Target dust is in the form of a red target with a green dollar sign in the middle. Haven't you ever felt the mist as you walk in the door? :p
Now Walmart just doesn't have that effect on me.

I don't know, but it happens to me all the time. If you figure it out, let me know. There are times I won't allow myself to go to Target for that very reason. Target is wonderful and terrible at the same time.

Add another one to the group. My friends and I talk about Target's evil magnetic money pull all the time.

LOL

I was talking to the cashier, she has been working at this Target for as long as I can remember, and she said that this happens because "It's just Target". :teeth: Still doesn't answer my question, but I guess that's as close as it gets.

Bumcat, I smell popcorn when I walk into ours. Is that the "Target dust" that you are referring to? ;) ;) :teeth:

LOL! It's a rule in life that you cannot go into Target without spending at least $100. For those of you spending less, you WILL be required to make up the difference!

;)

That's nuttin...when I was young my family once went into a pet store to get a new bulb for our fish tank and ended up walking out with a puppy and didn't even get the light. There was no intention of ever getting a dog...but we had her for 14years.

Target always gets me for 100.00. It does not matter what I go in there for I drop more money than I intended on spending!!

::yes:: exactly

I just went the other day to LOOK at curtains. I walked around spent $50 and while I was driving home I realized I never even glanced in the curtain's direction.

I will be going back today in a little while for some new jeans, maybe I will come out with new curtains.
Wish me luck.

once you figure it out please let me know

Happens to me all the time! :)

Did it JUST the other day. I went to buy a purse to go with my dress for Friday night. I left with a basket full of items that I did not intend on purchasing. When I got home, guess what I forgot? Yup, the purse!! :p Needless to say, I am heading BACK there after work to get that purse!!

Happens to me at Target and Costco too!!

LOL.. I don't know, but if you ever figure it out, please let me know so it will stop happening to me! ;)

It's the carts, they are bigger than grocery carts.

This is exactly why I used to be really militant about only going to Target or Walmart once a month. Then we moved really close to a Walmart and they are just waaaayyyy too accessible. Now it's "Oh, I will just stop in and get it on my way home." And yes, "it" always turns in to way more than that! MY budget has gone out the window and that is a large part of why. It is actually on my plan today to sit down and figure out what we have been spending and what we really need to be spending. And then here is this thread....glad to know I am not the only one!
