How does the water taste?

I am utterly amazed by your collection of smilies. That was a good one!!

The smell of that water reminds me of Florida-- I love it! We were at Epcot last week, and the big fountain in Futureworld started its show, and I got a big whiff of that wonderful, stinky Florida water. Sometimes I take a bottle home just to SMELL!

Even though I love it, who wants to DRINK it? It is yukky. In my family we say it's "alligator poop." I am sure this isn't true but we always giggle. Florida water is subject to the same standards as other states, so it shouldn't make you sick, but if you think you are sensitive to it, go with the bottled.

Shan, the Norwalk-type virus is rampant in Spring and is spread around by the normal ways -- dirty hands and close quarters -- not water. The "It's in our water system" sounds likea post- 9/11 urban legend to me. I was an anthropology major and I can spot these a mile away! I don't think what we call "the stomach flu" can be transmitted through water, thank goodness! Bacteria in water CAN make travelers ill, but this is unlikely anywhere in the US.

I have a Brita sports bottle and it was the best $8 I ever spent. They will give you ice at the parks for free to refill it.

We bring our Pur pitcher to keep in the fridge....and usually bring some bottled water for the road. Then again, I've had bottled water that tasted worse than anything I've ever had from a tap...one particular batch of Publix water was really yucky, though the other case of it I had was fine....

I feel like I can't win unless I filter it myself!
