How does the free dining work?

Usually in early April WDW offer Free Dining for a their slow time is usually from some time in Aug though mid Sept. These dates have gotten shorter during the past three years.

There are limited #'s of spots for free dining in each resort and the promo only does have a date that you need to book by this year it was sometime in June (can't remember the actual date). When you book your package you do need to add on park tickets to get the free dining. I am unsure if it is how many days you are staying or not because we always get the park tickets with our package.

This will be our 3rd time using the Free dining and we love it. it saves our family around $800 to book during those time.
