How does the disney plan work if a DVC member

Sorry for all the questions but we just bought 320 points into SSR and trying to figure all this out and this discussion board is the BEST. Prior to buying 2 weeks ago, we have a 6 night stay scheduled at Wilderness Lodge
11/25-12/1. I called and was only able to get a 1 bdr at SSR for the last 3 nites and will remain at WL for the first half and pay cash since nothing is available.

How do I arrage for reservation with the ADR if I am staying half as cash and half as DVC and who do I make ADR with as a DVC member since they always ask for a confirmation # of the resort that you are staying at? Do I do it with MS or by calling the dining reservation number?

As always thanks for all the help (hopefully at some point I will figure this stuff all out!)

If you wish to do the dining plan for both of your stays, it will be two separate plans since you have two different reservations.

For the WL portion, I think you will still need to purchase at least a one day ticket for everyone unless you have APs. For your DVC stay, no ticket purchase is required. You would make the first DDP reservation with DRC (Disney Reservation Center) and the second with MS.

You can make all your dining reservations in one fell swoop with Disney Dining. MS can also make dining reservations for you but I think just for the DVC portion of your stay.

They typically only need a resort reservation # if you are doing 180 + 10 reservations. Otherwise, they'll ask where you're staying but there are no problems with being at two different resorts when making dining reservations.

Have you waitlisted for the rest of your trip? It's certainly worth a shot rather than paying cash OOP.

Thanks for asking and yes I did waitlist afor anything/anywhere thos first three days so I'll just keep my fingers crossed

Also, does anyone have a best and least favorite section of SSR in terms of walking distances to food court, bus waits etc so I know what to request for my 11 month reservations for end of May 09?

The page this is linked to has some pros/cons for each area. I can tell you that my personal favorite is The Grandstand. Beautiful golf course views, great pool, short walk to the Carriage House (where the restaurants, main pool are located) and it's the 1st bus stop for pick ups & drop offs

Are you sure you want "Anything"? You might end up with a 2BR or something more expensive/point than you're willing to pay.

Good point! I didn't think of that so I will call tomorrow to be more specific to size.

don't give your reservation number - just give your phone number.

if you put your APR on your reservation number - if you cancel or change - the APR will be cancelled.

on your phone number you can change reservation several times without a problem.
