I have seen this mentioned on here a few times, but I don't know how it works. Can someone help me out? Thanks!!

I Did It Last Year With A Group Of People And It Worked Well. We Had One Person That Organized It. She Signed Up At The Website After She Got Back From Her Trip And Got A User Name And Password That Everyone Uses. I Think About 12 People Signed Up. We Emailed Her Our Info. All The People Going Had To Be Going Within A Three Week Period. When You Get To Park There Are Lots Of Places To Get Your Pictures Taken. The Photographer Will Give You A Photo Pass Card. You Can Use The Same One Through Out The Park, Or You Can Get A New One At Every Place. When You Get Home You Use The User Name And Password That Was Given To You To Sign On. And You Enter All Of The Codes That Are On The Back Of The Photopass Cards. And Edited You Pics. You Have Two Weeks After You Get Back To Enter The Cards. From The Time The First Card Is Entered You Have I Think Two Weeks To Order. So Everyone Has To Work Together. Then She Bought Blank Dvds And Mailing Supplies. And Divided Up The Total Cost Of Everything Incuding Shipping. I Mailed Her Check, But Some People Did Paypal. Any More ? Feel Free To Ask.

I was looking at the prepaid photo cd for $99. Is that the same thing? I posted in the thread of people going in May and I thought it would be cool to do a share. I don't have a computer that can make copies of CD"s though, so I wouldn't be able to host. I definately want to be in one though. Is there a time limit on that photo cd? Thanks again!

Hey there, Port Orchard person! :) I'm in Tacoma.

The photopass CD can be prepurchased for 99.95 (or .99? hmm) or bought after your vacation for 124.99.

The way one family would use it is simply go to the parks, find a photopass photographer, get a card (or more than one card), and have pictures taking whenever possible! Then after your vacation you put your card number(s) onto your photopass account (if you prepurchased then you already have one and have a "DO NOT DELETE" code in an email with that quoted bit as a subject line). You have 30 days from your vacation to put them onto your account ("claim" them). Then you edit them; crop, add borders, add signatures to character photos, and so on. You have 30 days after claiming the photos to get all that done and to order the CD.

If you prepurchased, you put that important code in as you are buying the CD, and everything will come up as $0.00 (even shipping). If you didn't prepurchase, you just buy it. Then it will come to you!

So the share works because you can have multiple cards on your one account. Everyone who is part of it gives the leader their cards or card numbers, the leader enters the numbers into their account. Then gives access to the account to the people sharing, and each person goes in and edits their photos. Once it's time, the leader orders the CD. Then the leader makes copies of the CDs and sends them out.

You can combine DLR and WDW pictures onto one photopass account/CD, if they are within the same timeframe. So if you found a photopass share that's open to joiners over on the Budget Board, even if most of them are going to WDW, if you're going to DLR during the same time, it would still work.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Bumbershoot in Tacoma!! Yeah, I've been seeing you so patiently answering everyone's questions on here. Aren't Washingtonians the nicest people?

I guess my next questions is that how does one get a card. Is that given to you at Disneyland by the CM taking your picture? Thanks again!

I've organized this previously, and am in the process of organizing it now for a group of ladies in April. Here's what my post says:

This is how it works:

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO REMEMBER:
Do NOT open your own Photopass account to look at your photos. Once they are in one account they can't be put into another one.

1. I am going to create an email and a brand new Photopass account before we leave, probably around April 22. We have 30 days once the account is created to edit/embellish the pictures before ordering the CD. PM me with your e-mail address, name, and address. Once I create the account, I will send you the login information.

2. When you have pictures taken by the DL photographers, the first one you use will give you a Photopass card (like a gift card). Each time after that you get them to take your pictures you will let them scan your card. This keeps all your pictures together – if one day you forget your card, it is ok, you can get a new one, but your pictures will be on more than one card – not an issue. The Photopass website will let you add multiple cards (which is how we are able to share). Not sure how current this information is, but this link may help you find Photopass spots: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1409128. You DO NOT have to do anything other than have them snap pictures and scan the card – no uploading at parks or anything. Just find the photographer, hand them your card and have them take pictures – it is that easy

3. Each of us will have our own card(s). So keep them with you.

4. Once you return from the trip, you can log onto the account and add your Photopass card numbers.

5. I will create our very own Photopass account to share. You can ONLY add your card numbers (pictures) here. To add the picture you log on and add your Photopass card numbers (if you have any issues when that time comes, I can help you). Once they are up you can edit them/add embellishments. Only add your Photopass card pictures here, not your personal camera ones. If you add your cards(pictures) to another account they will not be able to be added to our shared account – the website will only let you have your card on one account.

6. You can add your pictures as soon as you return home; remember, we have 30 days from the date the account is created, which will be around April 22. We must all be done adding pictures and done adding pictures/embellishing by May 18, to be on the safe side!!

7. On May 20, I will order our CD(s), unless we all agree on an earlier date.

8. Once I receive the CDs, I will burn you a CD/DVD and mail it to you for the cost of the materials (DVD, envelope, postage), which should be about $5 additional to the cost listed below.

HERE IS THE APPROXIMATE COST BREAKDOWN FOR THE PICTURES ON THE WEBSITE (pictures only, not including $5 for DVD, envelope, postage): $137.94 total ($124.95+12.99 s/h)

4 people sharing = $34.49 per person
5 people sharing = $27.59 per person
6 people sharing = $22.99 per person
7 people sharing = $19.71 per person
8 people sharing = $17.25 per person
9 people sharing = $15.33 per person
10 people sharing = $13.80 per person

If there are any discounts available, we will obviously be paying less.

You can look at your pictures at Disneyland before going home, and even order pictures if you want. DO NOT MAKE A PHOTOPASS ACCOUNT ONCE YOU GET HOME, YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO ADD THEM TO OUR PHOTOPASS SHARING ACCOUNT.

One thing now is that you can pre-order the CD and only pay $99.99, as Molly said (are you joining our Ladies Photopass?). I can't remember if shipping is included or not. So obviously it would be less per person.

You just get a card from the photographers. They have a whole pocket of cards. :) If you have a digital camera, I highly recommend taking a moment or two to take a nice, clear shot of the back of the card with the number on it, making sure you can read the numbers. That way even if you misplace the card, you can still type the numbers into your photopass account. If you don't have a digital camera, write the numbers down and put them somewhere safe.

And if you leave your card in your hotel one day, you can just pick up another...you can have many cards on one account, it's no problem at all.

You can check the ends of my sept and december trip reports to see examples of the borders you can put on your pictures. The Jack Sparrow pictures, however, just have those borders and I can't get rid of them; they seem to put them "on" the pictures in the camera or something. They are cute, but a bit overwhelming!

Hi,
How much does it cost to simply purchase the cd and not order the pictures? I'dl like to edit them myself. Or can you not do that at all?
Thank you!

Well, a question I can answer! Yay me!

You can prepurchase the CD for $99 or afterwards it's $125.

And you have all rights to the pictures on the CD.

If you want to purchase the CD in the park, before you leave, it's about $60. No borders or anything else, you can edit them yourself at home.

And the last few months they have had a deal for the CD (non-edited) and 2 5x7 prints for 74.99.

is there a maximum # of pictures you can put on a CD?

Well I've learned a lot in the last month being on this board.

There is no limit to the amount of pics on the CD or CD's for that matter. I think the most I've seen someone said they had 1200 pics. That was after she edited all her pics.

As an update, I did get into a photopass share group, I found it on the budget board. Hooray!

You don't have to be going to the same resort in order for this to work. Most of the people I am in a group with are going to WDW. The only criteria is that everyone needs to be going within 30 days of each other. Once the account has been activated you have 30 days to get all the pics loaded, edited and order the CD. I would think the trips would have to actually be less than 30 days apart in order for all that to happen. But that's just me.

Stacielee, is it too late to get in on your photopass CD? We our going 2/25 tp 2/29? I think I was in one with you last year :flower3:
Thanks!
Julie
