I am sure this is answered on here already, but it's Friday afternoon and it's been a long week...

We are scheduled to fly to MCO this summer. We are flying Airtran, bought through the AT site. I paid for our seats. And will check in at the 24 hour mark.

Now, here is where I am confused, since others could have purchased it thru the SW site...with no seat assignments (I believe??).

Say my seats are 28ABCD. What is stopping someone who has a high boarding position from grabbing those seats before I get on the plane? Or, will they allow those with actual assigned seats to board first?

Or maybe I am just totally confused as to how things are working these days??

Thanks!!

You have assigned seats.
Anyone who chooses to book Airtran flights via the Southwest site does not have the option of getting seats now. They will get their seats from whatever is left when they check in for their flight.

Ahhh! So for those booking AT thru SW....instead of getting a boarding group #, they will get assigned seats at check in?

That makes sense...

I just didn't want drama with someone who picked "our seat", you know? Thanks!!!!

Totally understand. FWIW, I do login and check my seats about once a week on any airline that I have reserved seating. It's easier to keep up with any possible schedule changes or seating mishaps that way. It doesn't happen often, but I'm glad I checked when the occasional slight problem happens...much easier fix (online or call) in a way that works for me. :thumbsup2
