How does priority booking work?

We are new DVC members. We paid our down payment and are just waiting for our paperwork to arrive. I have been reading a lot about DVC on here. Have to say you guys are awesome. I have noticed that some people have more then 1 home resort. 11 month booking for the resort where you have the majority of your points and 7 month with priority booking for the other home resorts. How does the priority work. At 7 months all resorts are available for booking from other DVC members.

You have two options when you own at multiple resorts. You can either use the points at each resort to book a split stay at 11 months out. Or you can alternate using the contracts, using the points for resort A for trip No. 1 and the points from resort B for trip No. 2.

Bottom line, points retain home resort no matter what other points you own. You cannot combine points from two resorts until the seven-month window opens.

some have said it's like a currency.

if i have a 1000 pt SSR contract and a 50 pt BLT contract, then at the 11 month window, i can only spend SSR pts to book SSR/THV and i can only spend BLT pts to book BLT.

so at the 11 month window, i can bank and borrow within my BLT contract to use 150 BLT pts (50 banked BLT pts + 50 current BLT pts + 50 borrowed BLT pts) to book BLT every third year. but my SSR pts would have to stay on the sideline until the 7 month window unless i wanted to use them to book SSR.

i can also transfer in BLT pts from another DVC owner's BLT contract and book BLT at 11 months out with those BLT pts. but only BLT pts can book BLT at 11 months out and the same goes for other resorts. you need the correct form of "payment"...
