How does our first morning sound? Help needed!

I was planning on doing PFF on a non MM morning-sorry for the confusion. We are planning on doing Fantasyland on our MM morning and then heading to Toontown at it's opening that same day. We will have a few hours in the parks on that Tuesday, but it's supposed to be oober busy since it's the last non black out day for awhile. I guess that would be a horrible afternoon to try PFF...

Check on the TT opening time.... in the past, TT opens an hour after the regular park opening time, so, for example, MM 07-08, Regular park opening 08, TT 09...
I am not sure if this is still the case.

Yes, it does open later-but I thought we'd get ALL of FL done, including IASW, Storybook land boats and Casey Jr. Train. Then we will head to Toontown.

The timing actually works out perfectly with a MM Day!

We always use an MM for Fantasyland, spend about 1 1/2 to 1 hr 45 mins then head to the Toontown gates to wait for opening. We are one of the first families to Fantasyland and one of the first families to Toontown.

To the OP, you will have plenty of time to do Fantasyland and then get to Toontown by it's opening time frame (which is 1 hr after official park open time) when done with a MM. We do it all the time this way and I wouldn't do either Fantasyland or Toontown any other way!:thumbsup2

Okay, so does this first morning sound more doable? I head to PFF to wait while dh takes the kids to the Nemo subs. Then they get a Space child swap, Autopia FP for all of us, and ride Buzz. After that, they can come to me. If time is cutting it close, they can skip Buzz and head to me after getting the FP. After PFF we will go to our breakfast at 9:40-should we be done by then if I am one of the first people waiting for PFF? After breakfast we can get a Buzz FP for later.

I think you might be cutting it a bit too close....
Can you push your ressies back?
after 10?

Yep, I would do at least a 10:30 PS. What's the latest time you can make a PS? It's Minnie's bfast, right? So I think you can make a 10:45??

I would make a PS for the latest time avail since that can then become more like a "brunch" and you don't have to pay to feed the family again until dinnertime, if you're lucky.;)

I only suggest this because we are ALWAYS on a tight budget and have found that eating a late bfast can tide us over until a early dinner. It also helps you avoid the crowds of people during prime meal times AND will give you plenty of time to do your morning schedule and not rush through PFF.

Okay, just changed it to a 10:10 reservation. The person on the phone said the characters leave at 11:00, so I didn't want to go much later than that.

Ok, MM hours at DL will include select attractions in Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. Once I recall that Indy was open during MM. I have not seen Splash or BTRR open for MM. You are correct that it is best to do Fantasyland on your MM hour, but Space is always open during MM and usually Autopia is too. But you can only pull a FP for these rides at normal park opening time. The Autopia FP line is often not much different than the standby line because they join together pretty far back. So I dont usually pull a FP for it. Whereas the FP line on SM can save you a lot of time. I also would not use my first FP pull on Buzz as this line is usually not a problem to do standby.

So on your MM I would do:

Peter Pan
Dumbo
Mr. Toad
Alice
Teacups
Matterhorn (if open, usually is, and you want to ride, but will have to do parent swap and it would be better not to take the time for both rides now)

(Casey Jr and canal boats are usually not open during MM so I have not included them in line up. I have not included Snow White or Pinnochio as they are usually easy to get onto later in the day without much wait. This is a very valuable MM hour at DL, use it wisely. Also, if your son wants to do Astro Orbiter, this plan will need tweaking)

Look at your watch, my goal would be to have someone at Space Mt shortly after park opening to pull a fast pass for it. IF you have twenty minutes or more until park opening go to Nemo. After Nemo, send one parent to SM for a FP while the other heads to Autopia with kids.
IF you have less than fifteen minutes go to Autopia (assuming it is open for MM) or Buzz, which is always open for MM, then pull the SM FP then to Nemo.
IF it is almost park opening, one parent goes ahead to pull the FP for SM then meet at Nemo, do Autopia after (or let you DH an DS do this when you are at PFF with your DD.)

This should allow you to use your nonMM day for PFF for you and your daughter if that is important to you. However, considering the age of your daughter and the time you must invest in PFF you might be better off seeing princesses at a character meal at Ariel's Grotto in DCA. There is usually a princess at Goofy's Kitchen as well (this is a better character meal choice for your son).

Hope this helps.

It is totally doable to have your dd meet you once you get close to the front of the line for the PFF, I just call dh when I get close to the front and he brings our dd on over (and so did everyone else who was waiting in line, which was actually kind of fun to get to visit with other moms while we waited) my dh and kids made it on 6 rides while I was waiting so it worked out nicely for all of us. And if you have to let other people go ahead of you because dd isnt there yet, I seriously doubt that anyone would be annoyed to get to see the princesses faster!

Let me tell you about our early morning PFF experience... we lined up in the big walkway outside of PFF (on the way to toontown) about 30 minutes before it opened, and we were already about 50 people back in the line (this was a non-busy May weekday)... then when PFF opened, everyone walked in a not-so-orderly line up and inside, dropping off strollers on the way, to get into the actual queue. Again, we hustled, and maybe gained about 5 places... so we were about 45 people back. After 45 more minutes of waiting, we asked the nice people we had gotten to know around us if we could run to the restroom... we were there and back in about 7 minutes. Then we waited 15 minutes more to get inside. All to see Cinderella, who skipped out on Ariel's the day we were there. So, all told we waited over an hour and half (including a restroom run) and had about 10 total princess minutes. Never again!! I remember being happy when we hit the part of the queue next to the building, because there was a little bit of a curb to sit on... our feet were so tired of standing.

We just do Ariels now, and are happy with whatever princesses we get!

This is our theory too and I travel with teenage girls. lol You never know which three you'll get at PFF but it seems to be a fairly constant group at Ariels. I'd much rather spring for the meal than spend that much time in line. Although, we haven't been back since they changed the menu. The girls have decided that they can get a lot done in an hour and we'd have to stop to eat anyway so they might as well kill two birds with one stone.

Then they get a Space child swap, Autopia FP for all of us, and ride Buzz.

I don't know if you can just walk up and get a child swap pass without riding the ride. If they do, it means that only two of you can go in the line later; the third rider (presumably the other parent) would lose out.

Also, just realize with a 2 yo, you can't go anywhere as fast as you think. I've learned my lesson with the two trips we've taken in the past 6 months with my now almost 5 yo & 15 mo old. I have a plan, but I go with the mindset that we may not get to everything we want to. Plus, after the rides, there are diversions into stores (Mama, can I have this, can I have that), potty breaks, bumping into unexpected characters, etc...
