How does member services handle multiple rooms?

We are planning a large family trip next summer. We are DVC members. I am planning to reserve a 2 Bedroom villa and 2 Studios at OKW. My family will be staying in the 2 bedroom and our extended family in the studios. We will need the 2 bedroom for 10 days and they will need the studios for 7 days.

The most important thing for us is that the rooms are close together. How will member services handle this. Will they do a separate reservation for each room or put all three rooms on one reservation?

TIA
Melinda

These will be separate reservations and the best that DVC can do for you is to note it on the reservation so that they can try to get you rooms that are nearby. You may be all in the same building, but don't expect to be right next door to each other. There are just too many variables for them to be able to guarantee that.

Usually we have been lucky and the rooms have been close together when it has been noted to MS that we would like it that way. We have not done any multi room stays at OKW, but BWV, VWl, and even VB's inn have given us rooms near each other.

We had multiple rooms during our stay at OKW and we did note when we booked that we wanted the rooms as close as possible to each other. When we checked in I also asked if it were possible to be on an upper floor. The CM looked at her computer and asked me which was more important, rooms together or upper floors. My answer was the closer the rooms the better. She said she'd see what she could do. We weren't far from each other at all. Not right next door but very close in the same building. We were on an upper floor as well. It seemed like our rooms had already been assigned the way she acted when she looked at her computer. Not sure but I do know she was extremely nice and very helpful. I believe they try as hard as they can to make each guest happy. I think it doesn't hurt to arrive early as well. Good luck.

Along that line...

We're planning a large (14 people) gathering in 2012 at OKW. We're going to use points for 2 2BR villas for the weekdays and we'd like to pay cash for the weekends. I believe I read somewhere that DVC members can only get the cash discount for one room, yes? No? :confused3 If that is the case, can one of the cash rooms be reserved in my name and the other in DH's name? I am planning on requesting that the rooms be in the same building, preferably one above the other.

I'm not sure if this is still correct but we had two cash rooms during our stay in 2006. They were both in DH's name and both were booked with the member cash discount. They may have changed this by now so I hope someone will correct me if they have. The discount isn't always available so be sure to ask.
