How does it work now with park days?

So when I select my dates for tickets on Disney's website, it does not have me reserve which park I want to go to each day. Now, without Fastpasses, how does this work to make sure we can get into the park we want to on a specific day? Thank you.

@SwanVT2 it is recommended you book park reservations as early as you can as currently many park reservations are filling up 1-2 months in advance.
