How does getting groceries delivered work?

Hello all,

We will be booking a stay for a week in December at SSR. I have been reading about having groceries delivered. Can someone familiarize me with this service? What is the average cost breakdown? What are the price differences btw items (milk, bread, etc) I am seeing talk of multiple service providers. Any one better than the other? Any alternatives?

I do understand that you would not pay average prices that you might pay at the supermarket.

We use Garden Grocer. Go to their website to check their prices and availability. You do your order online, select resort and timeframe for delivery, check out and pay with credit card. You will have a delivery fee to pay and optional tip. Bell services will bring the groceries to your room.

Wego shop is another service that actually shops specific brands for you. Since I'm not familiar with east coast brands/stores, I have not used this service.
 
I just used WEGO Shop in December. They will shop at whatever store(s) that you ask them to. If you have coupons they will pick them up from you prior to shopping. I had them shop at Publix. The shopper called me three times while she was shopping to clarify items and suggest alternatives when a product wasn't available. They give you the recepit when they deliver the groceries. I was thrilled with the service and will use them again.
 
We have used wegoshop several times. You can find their contact info on their website. You give them a shopping list of items and brands you want, pick a store you shop at and they deliver to your resort for a reasonably small service fee. You pay supermarket prices for your items.

We like them and will continue to.
 

We used Garden Grocer. Everything was waiting for us at Bell Services when we arrived. The cold stuff was even being kept in a refrigerator for us. Thought that was a nice touch, but not sure who initiated it Disney or Garden Grocer. We also liked that you could go ahead and put tip on the bill when you ordered. This allowed us to take care of that and not have to be there to get delivery.

We have used wegoshop on our last two visits. I cannot say enough good things about this service. After you fill out the online form of what you want bought for you, Marge will call you and find out specifics for things that she may have questions about. I can't tell you how personable and trustworthy she has been. She (and her shoppers) will go out of their way to find the items/brands that you want and to make sure they understand your needs.
I did not find them to be outrageously expensive, there is a set % that they tack onto the bill for their services, which I felt was fair. I think it was 15% or something like that.
They will drop it right at your resort on the day you arrive, if you are not arriving until late, just let them know and they will work with your time table. They are VERY accommodating and I just can't say how wonderful it was to have the foods I wanted without having to spend an arm and a leg at the shops at our resorts for breakfast, snacks and drinks...so wonderful!!

Marge is no longer with WEGO SHop, she sold to her longtime employee Amy. Cathy was our shopper in December and she was phenomenal. I called when we landed and she arrived and called me from the BWV just as we were arriving.
 
I am so sad to hear that....Marge was amazing.
Glad to hear that it is still as wonderful a service as it was before though. I am still planning on using it for our April trip.
