How does Free Dining Work if it doesn't cover your entire holiday?

Sorry-vacation?
As Brits we come for 2 weeks at a time but if the Free Dining only covers the beginning or end of your vacation, don't you get it at all? Or would you get it for say 6 days at the beginning? Ie, just get 6 days credits? FD was on for the vacation we just took but I think it was on for the whole fortnight we were there.

As long as your check in date falls within the window it will cover you for your entire stay under the promotion, up to (I think) 10 days? Not 100% sure on how many days past it will cover but I do know if your check in date is one of the covered days it will also extend through your stay, even if the promotion expires before your trip does. Maybe someone can chime in a confirm how many days past it will cover....not sure on the 10.

As PP said, it is your CHECK-IN date that determines whether you get FD or not. If the promotion begins sometime after you check-in, you're out of luck unless you want to do a split stay: Room only for the beginning and then package on the date FD starts. You would not have the dining plan for the first portion, but you would for the second. Tickets would be tied to the second portion, but can be activated up to 10 days before the package starts. Problem is you would not be able to do FP+ for the first portion since you have no tickets tied to it.

yep. It's all a function of the date you check in. If you're using the British offer they usually have, so long as your check-in date is covered you can have free dining for up to 21 nights. (For the US offers, the max is 14 nights.) If your check-in date is not covered, none of your stay is. The only way around that is booking separate reservations and that brings up the ticket issues.
